Please take a look at my consultation review! I went to five places for consultations, and my situation is: My nose is high and, if you call it big, a large bulbous nose (it looks even bigger because my face and eyes are small) The nose I want is like NewJeans Haerin, Oh My Girl Arin, etc. A small, sharp, slim, delicate-looking nose (not glamorous)
I don’t want to increase the height, but I’m worried that if the tip is raised to correct the bulbous nose, the line may bend or the corrective effect may be weaker, so I’m debating whether to put in about 2 mm of silicone. I’m also debating what material to use, between septal cartilage and rib cartilage.
▫️ID, free parking, don’t remember the doctor They give an in-house cafe drink voucher (1 among Americano, latte, iced tea) CT scan O The consultation didn’t feel particularly clear. The hospital was too big and felt like a factory-style clinic. They said silicone is absolutely necessary.
▫️ㄷㄷㅇ 440 ㅇㅈㅎ No CT scan. They examined by touching with their hands. The consultant said to project the nasolabial angle outward to improve protruding mouth. (Thinking about it now, I think they meant projecting the columella, not the nasolabial angle?) The consultant’s consultation was really good. Communication was easy. The director felt a bit busy? No CT, only took side photos, touched only the nose, and consulted. The tip has to be raised for bulbous nose correction. Silicone is needed to make a straight-line profile possible. (Consultant’s recommendation) The less the height is raised, the less the bulbous nose improves. Use donated rib cartilage and internal nasal cartilage. Ear cartilage will be used if needed after opening. For silicone, they said let’s see when I come in. Ready-made implant. Osteotomy unnecessary.
Conclusion: I probably won’t do it because I feel uneasy about there being no CT and about deciding after opening it up.
▫️April 31 ㅎㅎㅈ CT scan done (CT fee 3 + consultation fee 2), valet fee 3,000 won They said bulbous nose correction doesn’t necessarily mean the nose has to be made higher. Remove soft tissue. Do not lower the columella. They said if the nasolabial angle is corrected, the nose will look longer and the philtrum will look longer.. Shave the hump. They said it’s deviated. As the nose is raised, the leftward deviation will become more noticeable.
Consultation with Director ㅎㅎㅈ was amazing, seriously the best and very meticulous. What I want is not straight, but a straight-to-slightly-curved line. Tie the cartilage and raise it with ear cartilage. Remove fat. Nostril/alar reduction was not recommended. They said there is enough material and my nose should turn out well. (Why did I write this down? Did they say they’d use septal cartilage too??) Raise it while lowering it to maintain the visible nostrils. Recommended 2 mm silicone (or postauricular fascia) Fascia 480 Silicone 450
Conclusion: Everything was perfect and good, but I’m a bit uneasy about going only with ear cartilage and cartilage tying (worried the bulbous nose won’t be corrected and the tip may droop), so I also scheduled consultations with other directors.
▫️ㄷㅇㅇ ㅈㅇㅇ Around 370? (got a discount because I waited a long time) Recommended paranasal augmentation. They noticed asymmetry in my nose that even I didn’t know about, like one side going inward toward the face? They said they would use 3.1 mm out of 4.1 mm of my septal cartilage. For the nose, cartilage repositioning, fat removal, hump shaving, osteotomy, and silicone is optional. I was curious about the bulbous nose correction method, so I asked whether it would involve cartilage tying, and they said that kind of medical detail is for the doctor to handle, and as the patient, I just need to clearly decide the needs I want and come in, and they’ll make it accordingly.
Conclusion: I was surprised because they recommended paranasal augmentation, which I hadn’t expected at all. I don’t want to use septal cartilage, so I’m somewhat conflicted, and since it’s my nose, it felt a bit off that I didn’t have decision-making authority in the consultation about how the surgery would be done. (Of course, I think it’s probably because the doctor is confident…)
▫️ㅈㅇㅈㅇ ㄱㅇㅇ 450 No CT scan I went for a facial contouring consultation at another plastic surgery clinic, and the consultant recommended the place where she got her own nose done, so I went. (Her nose turned out well without asymmetry…) I made a same-day consultation appointment without designating a doctor, then chose the director after going. There are two representative directors, and I asked to be assigned to the one who does natural-looking results well, so I was assigned. (They may have just assigned whoever was available lol)
During the consultant consultation, I asked about paranasal augmentation, and she said if the need isn’t strong, considering side effects and since it isn’t severe, it may not be necessary. If I do it, it would be better to do it together with the nose. She said the director would probably suggest ear cartilage + septal cartilage or rib cartilage. I asked because I was debating whether to use silicone, and she recommended using it.
In the director’s consultation, we decided not to use silicone. Without imaging, he examined by touching with his hands and consulted while drawing detailed illustrations. It wasn’t just rough drawing; he drew the proportions such as the tip position and columella position while consulting, which I liked. Interestingly, he said my columella is somewhat recessed, and my nose is actually short proportionally, but it looks long because of the weightiness of the tip. I said I was debating whether to put in silicone for the purpose of bulbous nose correction, and he said 2 mm wouldn’t really have a major effect, so if I was considering it because I was worried about effectiveness and the line bending, he would not recommend it. (He said since my original nose already has height, there’s a possibility it could look like an avatar nose.) The reason he won’t use septal cartilage is that, when he touched it by hand, he said the septal cartilage didn’t seem sufficient. (This made me question it a bit.. At ㄷㅇㅇ, where they did a CT scan, they said it was 4 mm and sufficient.) The director said East Asians can’t have 4 mm, and that must be the measurement from here to here including parts that can’t be used.
Conclusion: I went impulsively without even reading reviews, but my satisfaction was the highest. But I’m conflicted because they didn’t do a CT scan and there aren’t many reviews…. Also, because we were talking about other things, I didn’t ask exactly whether they tie the cartilage or reposition it, so I’m debating whether to do another consultation. I paid a reservation deposit.
Should I look around more? ㅜㅜ Are there any hospitals you recommend?
