But for the past 12 years, because I wanted double eyelids, I used double-eyelid glue and double-eyelid tape. After doing that for so long, as I got older, my eyelids would peel, and the skin became worn and stung. So I thought I couldn't keep doing this anymore. But when I actually tried to have surgery, I was so scared. I kept putting it off out of fear and only ended up doing it after getting much older. I was born with monolids. The pre-surgery photo shows the stretched condition caused by long-term double-eyelid glue. Since they were stretched, I couldn't go around without using the glue. As I kept doing that, my eyelids got thicker, and on most days the shape wouldn't set prettily. Anyway, I had a consultation this February and had surgery right away a week later. The doctor said that because my eyelids were thin, adhesion would probably be better than an incision. The doctor also said it would be good to do ptosis correction too. The photo right after surgery is a bit unpleasant to look at, but I'm attaching it for a realistic review. The pain right after surgery isn't extremely severe, but it does throb. If you take the prescribed medicine regularly, the pain gets controlled quickly. And if you follow instructions well for ice compresses and warm compresses, the swelling goes down fairly quickly too. But this also depends on each person's constitution, so mine went down a bit slowly. It was fully gone after more than 3 months. Now, in November as I'm writing this review, it has settled completely well, there are no thread marks, no foreign-body sensation, and the shape is very pretty. There is no discomfort when opening my eyes or any feeling that they don't open fully. Unlike what I worried about, the surgery went so well, so I'm relieved. I'll end the review here.
