Before <before surgery> After <after surgery +24 days> It’s already been 3 weeks since my eye surgery, so I’m writing this as a record and a review! Before surgery, I had so many little questions, but once I actually had the surgery, I didn’t even remember what I had been curious about? Anyway, I’ll write down whatever comes to mind
The very last photo is the one taken now, and my eyes definitely look more open than before, so I think my impression has improved.
But actually, I had the surgery more because of eyelash irritation than for cosmetic reasons. Before, maybe because the skin above my eyelids was pressing down, the eyelashes at the front of my eyes kept touching my eyes, so I couldn’t open my eyes wide. If I wanted to open them wide without my eyes hurting, I had to use my forehead muscles to do it, and then wrinkles started forming on my forehead, which I hated too Even if I curled my lashes, my eyebrows would go up, and even if I got a lash perm, they kept touching my eyes, so maybe because of moisture, that part kept falling flat again. So there was really no way to fix it, and I decided I needed double eyelid surgery, so I went around for consultations. In the end!! It was neatly resolved, so now my eyes don’t hurt at all and I don’t have to open them with my forehead, which is so comfortable
Then I’ll organize the details by before and after surgery~ I’ll write it like a diary.

<<<Clinic record>>> I had it done at Glovi Plastic Surgery. I had surgery with Director Park Jong-cheol. For my eyes, I had incisional double eyelid surgery + front canthoplasty together, and it cost 2.5 million won, but they apparently didn’t charge separately for the front canthoplasty? That was kind of surprising I chose an inline double eyelid line. They also removed fat during the surgery. Oh, and they also included a skin-care treatment called Lalafil.

<Pre-surgery consultation> My friend and that friend’s younger sibling had it done here, so honestly I went in with some expectations
When I got the consultation, I had some flesh on my upper eyelids and my eyes and eyebrows were close together, so when I looked at the line other clinics had suggested during consultations, it looked extremely heavy and made my eyes seem puffy.
So I kept thinking, ‘Is there nothing I can do about my eyes? ’ but when they drew the line here, it was really amazing: it didn’t feel heavy at all, and for the first time my eyes looked pretty!! That’s why people say you should go around in person and get consultations!! I thought to myself, wow, it really is different
And the consultation manager was incredibly kind! One of the important things I looked at when visiting clinics for consultations was the attitude of the consultants and staff. During the consultation, the period before surgery, the surgery itself, and the post-op care period, the consultation manager took such good care of me, and I was really so grateful and happy They gave advice about swelling care and other things, and even after the surgery, after checking my progress, they contacted me first to ask if I had any questions, so I was able to spend the post-op period feeling reassured and without worries. And the day before surgery, I had a bit of a misunderstanding and got annoyed...(sorry...) but even so, they treated me with a smile until the end, so I was really thankful.
<Day of surgery> On the day of surgery, I went about 30 minutes earlier than the appointment time to change clothes and get ready. I also took photos in advance.
Up until the consultation, I had only been thinking that all I needed was to fix the eyelash irritation, so I left the eye shape to the director, but when I made the surgery date after the consultation, they told me that on the day of surgery I would draw the line again, so it would be good to bring eye photos I could use as references.
Human beings really are fickle: once I actually had surgery, I started searching all sorts of eye shapes So shamelessly, I brought celebrity photos! (I mostly brought photos that looked like in-out folds) After getting ready for surgery and before drawing the line in the operating room, I showed a few photos, and they immediately said they understood what kind of look I wanted and drew the line for me.
For anesthesia, they used sleep sedation first, then local anesthesia. After the local anesthesia and after opening my eyes, I waited a bit for the medicine to spread, and I was extremely nervous and shaking, so the nurse?? next to me kept helping me relax. She listened to all the nonsense I was saying because of the anesthesia thanks to that, I was able to have the surgery with some of the tension eased.
I had read on a community site that during surgery you feel like the skin is being cut, and when they burn the fat it smells like burnt squid, and it was true^^ It’s not painful, but it does feel prickly. And the surgery itself doesn’t seem to take long. Since I couldn’t look at a clock, I timed it by counting how many songs played in the operating room music, and it ended after about 10 songs? The anesthesia and recovery waiting time felt much longer. I’m really a scaredy-cat, so I stayed tense the whole time during surgery, and I was glad it ended sooner than I expected
After surgery, they moved me to the recovery room, where I sat under a light with a massage machine, and when that was done, they moved me back to the changing room. And I think they said I could stay longer in the recovery room if I wanted, but I was surprisingly okay, so I just went home.
After surgery, they gave me a simple explanation, an ice pack, and an eye drop prescription. The pharmacy was right near the first floor of the clinic, so it was easy to find.
And on the day of surgery, my vision was a bit blurry in front of me, which was a little startling, but there was no problem taking the subway home. I went by myself on the day of surgery, and it was fine to go home alone. (The blurry vision went away a few days later.)
Also, I worried that once I got home and the anesthesia wore off, it might hurt a lot, but it didn’t hurt much. I couldn’t even tell whether the anesthesia had really worn off.
<The next day> That day, I went in, did an eye compress, got disinfected, the director checked me once, asked if I had any questions, and that was it. And because they said it was good to sleep with my head higher than my chest for a few days after surgery, I propped up the head area with a blanket and slept like that.
<6 days after surgery> That day, the stitches came out!! The director checked me personally and said the line had been formed well! After that, there isn’t any separate follow-up. They did say that if there were any problems after more than a month, or if I wanted another checkup, I could make an appointment and come in.
And on the day the stitches were removed, they also included a skin-care treatment called Lalafil, which Glovi offers as a service, so I got that too. The skin-care place was in the same building, so I just went up and had it done right away. Among post-op care, this was really good for me!!! Because after surgery, I was honestly worried about hurting my eyes if I tried to take care of my facial skin (I think everyone probably feels this way), but after getting this treatment, it was definitely good. It was nice to be able to come out with my skin feeling smooth

<End> That was my clinic review up to here! Personally, I was really happy that the swelling went down quickly. Because exactly 2 weeks after surgery, my friend had an exhibition, and I had to go together with friends, so I was very worried. I was debating whether I should go wearing glasses, but once I actually got there, everyone said the swelling seemed to go down really quickly and they couldn’t believe my eyes were only 2 weeks post-op There may be differences from person to person, but I really think my swelling went down fast. Fortunately. And they said the eyelash irritation would improve a lot, and now there’s really zero eyelash irritation!!!! My eyes feel so comfortable it’s moving, and because my eyes are now much more open, people react well every time I meet them Cosmetic improvement was secondary, but these days people keep telling me I’m pretty, so I feel good too.
When I meet friends after surgery, they ask where I had it done, say they’re thinking about surgery too, and ask for clinic information, and some friends ask what they should prepare before and after surgery, so I organized everything into a post.
I have a lot more to say about the other clinics I consulted with, but if I go on like that it’ll never end, so I’ll stop here.
