I've already had my revision surgery now, but I'll still share the other places I went to for consultations for everyone else. I visited a total of 9 places for consultations before deciding! I wrote reviews for 4 places in my previous post, and I'll write reviews for 5 more places here! The criteria I used to decide were: 1. A doctor who, after looking at my nose, explains in detail what direction they would take it in (a doctor who clearly says what can be done and what cannot be done) 2. A place where the doctor has experience 3. A place where CCTV footage can be checked 4. As I went around for consultations, the anesthesia method, AS period, and aftercare all felt similar, so later on I stopped asking about those parts.
I'm not getting revision surgery because of side effects. I'm doing it for cosmetic purposes because my columella is too droopy and I want to raise my nasal bridge more, so please keep that in mind!
5th: Dr. ㅊㅎㅅ at ㅍㄹㅁㅇ I had a CT scan, and the consultation with the consultant was good. Her tone was kind, she understood the problems with my nose well, and she tried to guide things in the direction I wanted. During the consultation with the doctor, rather than saying everything was possible, he explained that if the columella is raised, it would look like this and proceed in this way. He gave a lot of realistic advice, such as saying that because my skin is thin, the nasal bridge cannot be raised too much. It did not feel rushed at all, and he kept looking carefully at my nose step by step as if trying to find the problems, so it was really good. For materials, he recommended silicone for the nasal bridge and septal cartilage plus donated costal cartilage for the nasal tip. The price came out to 5.8 million won at the event price.
6th: Dr. ㅇㄷㅎ at ㅌㅋㄹㅅ First of all, I went here because the reviews were my style. Also, before I found this community, it was mentioned a lot on another cafe, so I went to check it out. The consultant explained things well and in a friendly way. According to the consultant, Dr. ㅇㄷㅎ speaks very gently and is a little shy, but she said he is also very skilled with his hands. And during the doctor consultation, he really did speak very gently. When I showed him photos of the nose shape I wanted, he said surgery to about that extent was possible. He just spoke calmly but still said everything that needed to be said, so it felt good. For materials, he recommended silicone for the nasal bridge and autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip. The price was 4.7 million won at the event price, and what was unusual here was that if you put down a deposit and then cancel, the cancellation amount is not refunded, but it can be replaced with another procedure. They also said it can be transferred to someone else!
7th: ㅇㅍㄹㅅ This was also a place I went to because revision rhinoplasty was mentioned a lot on another cafe before I found this community. This is an ENT-specialized hospital, but first of all, the doctor did not seem to be a full member of the Korean Society of Plastic Surgeons or anything like that...? So I think I had the consultation while already feeling that it wasn't very trustworthy. The consultation did not feel particularly kind either, and I remember feeling a bit scared because he spoke with a blank, unsmiling expression. He recommended autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip, so when I said I did not want to use autologous costal cartilage, he said everyone wants donated costal cartilage, so there may not be any donated costal cartilage available. So I was like, what is this? He also said that using ear cartilage together with autologous costal cartilage makes absorption slower or reduces it. He did not ask me to show the nose I wanted or any photos, and just said what he thought should be done after looking at it himself. Maybe because this place is ENT, rhinitis insurance reimbursement was available up to 2 million won! Autologous costal cartilage was 5.5 million won, and donated costal cartilage was 6.6 million won. But he said if I reserved the same day, autologous costal cartilage could be done for 3.5 million won and donated costal cartilage for 4.5 million won.
8th: ㅊㅁ This was also a place I went to because revision rhinoplasty was mentioned a lot on another cafe before I found this community. It had been open for less than a year....? (Now it has been over a year.) But among all the hospitals I went to, it was the cleeeeeeanest and had the neeeeeatest interior. And the consultation room was also clean because it had not been long since opening. First of all, I wanted to have surgery within July, but here, the bookings were really backed up.. The consultant said there happened to be one slot left, so I went right away for a consultation. The consultation with the consultant was really good, and the consultation with the doctor was really good too. Among all the doctors I had consulted with up to then, should I say he seemed the most confident..? He said that truly skilled doctors should show before-and-after photos directly before surgery to demonstrate their skill, and he kept showing off, saying he made noses like this into this! He said he would make me a nose with as few side effects as possible. Honestly, this doctor gave the most meticulous consultation. What I mean by his meticulousness is that this hospital apparently does not use donated costal cartilage at all. So it seemed clear that the doctor's mindset was to make this the last surgery and prevent any further surgery. It felt like that kind of meticulousness, like, let's completely eliminate the possibility of side effects! He told me absolutely no donated costal cartilage, and said I should not use silicone for the nasal bridge either, so it felt like he was trying to cut off all possible side effects at the source...? Actually, because I feel burdened by autologous costal cartilage, even though this doctor gave a good consultation, this was the hospital I thought about a lot because of the autologous costal cartilageㅜㅜ For the strut, autologous costal cartilage; for the nasal bridge, cartilage + AlloDerm; nasal tip AlloDerm (I'm writing exactly what the doctor wrote, but I don't really remember if this is correctㅜㅜ) The price was 7.7 million won, the most expensive...
9th: Dr. ㅇㄱㅁ at ㅇㅂㅈ The consultation here was also booked out by about a month. But they said one slot had luckily been canceled, so I ran there right away. There is apparently a rumor that this doctor became famous because he did a good rhinoplasty for some YouTuber (I don't know if it's true), but anyway, he became famous for something. The consultant consultation was fine, but as soon as the doctor saw my nose, he said my columella was very droopy, and without even asking my opinion, he said things like 'Glamorous?' 'We raise the columella and make it glamorous, right?' so I was really flustered. I had never said I wanted a glamorous look, but he said that first, so I was really taken aback;; Silicone for the nasal bridge, septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and donated costal cartilage for the nasal tip. Here, the doctor said he does all the hemostasis during surgery, so they do not put cotton packing in after surgery! (This was the most refreshing part.) The price was 4.5 million won plus 1.3 million won (donated costal cartilage), for a total of 5.8 million won.
