I had the septal support graft, silicone on the nasal bridge, and ear cartilage removed, and I had osteotomies and the hump shaved down. I didn’t have them removed because of side effects; I just didn’t like it, so I had them removed. There’s nothing left in my nose, everything was completely removed. -> For more details, please look at my previous posts and refer to them.
This is my review after more than 1 year since removal. I don’t remember well whether I had the surgery in December 2019 or January 2020ㅠ
1. Pros - Since the removal, I haven’t had any pain in my nose or any issues up to now. - Because of the septal support graft, psychologically my nose felt heavy and the columella was hard, but it has become much softer. (Not as much as my original nose.) - I had cartilage repositioning, but at the end I didn’t have tip suturing done. I didn’t want even a single thread left in, so I didn’t do it, and maybe because of that, from the front my nasal tip looks the same compared to my original nose. It hasn’t spread out more or anything. - It looks natural. With noses, maybe 1 out of 200 people? Unless it’s done re~ally well, it tends to look obvious, but after removal it definitely looks more natural than a surgically done nose. (I do like a natural look, but even to other people it looks much better.)
2. Cons - Other people say they can make a pig nose after removal, but I can’t. My nasal tip is softer and more comfortable than when it was a surgical nose, but since I can’t do it, I asked the clinic, and they said the previous surgeon had layered on a lot of cartilage and used a lot of sutures, so it would take longer for me to recover than other people. Also, because of my constitution? I think my recovery is very slow. This is just my thought, but even with my first surgical nose, it took about 2 years? for the swelling to go down. I think I’m the type whose body doesn’t respond well to surgery. That said, it’s not a problem or anything, so I’m just trying not to worry too much about it.
- The incision scar is still slightly there. When I had open rhinoplasty for my first surgery, I didn’t scar, but with the removal surgery, since they made another incision, I guess it scarred. That said, the columella area isn’t pulled in or badly scarred; it’s just enough to bother me personally? It doesn’t get covered with makeup. If someone looks closely, they can see it.. Still, I think the scar will gradually get better..
That’s about it. After removal, it’s definitely much more comfortable. In my case, I had removal about 2 years after my first surgery. As for surgery clinics, I don’t really know which clinics are famous these days, but at the time of my removal, I went to a lot of consultations mainly at 3 clinics that were famous here. And while reading lots of surgery reviews, I thought every clinic would have some bad cases, but I avoided places that were too severe no matter how famous they were. Anyway, most of the clinics recommended here probably became famous after starting with promotions, but I thought that at least they would have that much experience with removal surgery, so I searched around, and even went for consultations 2-3 times at the same place, so I think you can find a clinic that suits you. Since everyone’s nose shape and situation are different, I hope you just use my post as a reference.
