When I had the consultation, what I emphasized the most to both the consultant and the doctor was, “I chose this place because they said it absolutely wouldn’t reattach. So you really don’t have to open it a lot.” I showed example photos and begged them, saying that the red area visible at the outer side of the eye absolutely must not end up like that.
Of course, when they explained it, I did hear that this surgery needs to be observed over a long period, but still, I’m 3 months in now. Even if I say I can endure everyone asking me what’s wrong with my eyes, now that it has turned out like this, I really wonder if it will actually get better with timeㅠㅠㅠ
Is there anyone here who ended up like me...? It’s like this at 3 months. Does the redness really go away if more time passes...? My eyes are also drooping so much. The lump that the hospital said would disappear along with the redness was already gone from the start, but that was probably a post-op lump? a clump of tissue? something like that, so it would seem strange if that didn’t go away. But I’m going crazy because my eyes are so droopy and because of this rednessㅠㅠㅠ
My dry eye has also gotten worse, so the ophthalmologist told me to use a timer app and put in eye drops once every hour, so I put them in every hour. Besides that, I use two other eye drops, an antibiotic and something else, and morning and night I use another gel-type eye drop, and before sleeping I also put in eye ointment. I’ve been doing this nonsense for months. I’ve really been treating it diligently, but when they showed me my eye under the microscope, there was some kind of white spot? on my eyeball. They told me the name of the condition, but I don’t remember it. Anyway, they said that developed too. Ah seriously, writing this out makes me realize my quality of life is a complete mess..
I’m scared something else might happen, so I don’t think I can get revision surgery here either. I feel like I’ll just have to go somewhere else, pay, and have it closed back up. But when they explained it, they said in simple terms that they completely cut away the back part, so since I have no medical knowledge, I don’t know whether it can even be connected again unless some kind of artificial skin is grafted in to fill the missing part. This situation is so frustrating..
Half of the reason I’m writing this is for public interest, to tell everyone to be careful when choosing a surgery clinic, and the other half is because someone who saw my eyes this afternoon was shocked and worried with me, so I became painfully aware of my eyes all over again. It’s 5 a.m. now, and I’ve been crying on and off from nighttime until now, so my head hurts and I can’t sleep, so I’m writing this.
If it’s famous, it must be famous because they’re good, so why did this happen to me.... Can a person just have bad compatibility with a clinic tooㅠㅠ?
