Double-eyelid surgery has become such a common procedure now, so I’m writing this in case there are people who think that, like I did, it will be more or less the same no matter where you get it done..
In 2014, I only trusted what the neighborhood ladies around me said, that the place was okay, and followed my mom to some local plastic surgery clinic where I had incisional double-eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, and epicanthoplasty.
During the consultation with the doctor, without considering each patient’s individual face, I was told that to become a face with perfect golden proportions like Kim Tae-hee, the ratio of the eyes and the glabella had to be 1:1:1. At the time, I just felt uneasy..
1:1:1 is indeed a pretty ratio, but I felt it would look strange on my face. Still, I trusted the doctor and went into surgery... The result was truly depressing.
The inner corners of my eyes were excessively opened to create the 1:1:1 ratio, and my double-eyelid line was made too thick and adhered too strongly so it would not come undone. It really was the kind of look only neighborhood ladies would like... The ptosis correction was also uneven on both sides.
What I want to say is that the face type the doctor prefers and the appearance the patient hopes to become need to match. These days there are so many side effects that probably not many people are unaware, but I still wrote this hoping that this kind of thing won’t happen. Thank you.
