In 2022, during the COVID period, my glasses kept fogging up while wearing a mask, and I couldn’t stand it anymore, so I went ahead with SMILE LASIK! Since I was living overseas, choosing a hospital wasn’t easy, and I didn’t have the capacity to go around comparing clinics, so I just searched a few times, booked the surgery right away, and had it done. They say that if the cornea is too thin, there are sometimes cases where surgery can’t be done.
The surgery really felt like it was over in less than 20 minutes. There was no pain at all, and from about 3 days after surgery, it really started to feel like magic! I began seeing well. I didn’t really have any postoperative pain or discomfort. After surgery, I took the subway and went straight home. However, after surgery, you can’t see things up close, and you can’t see your phone either lol But even this inconvenience disappears after 7 days at the longest.
My vision before surgery was 0.2, and after surgery it went up to 1.2. I’m still maintaining 1.2 now. The only thing I regret is just why I didn’t do it sooner. It’s been a little over 2 years, but I haven’t had any notable side effects. Personally, it was one of the surgeries I was most satisfied with.
