I had it done 2 years ago at Kim Jihoon Plastic Surgery in Apgujeong. I had completely monolid eyes with a lot of skin and a lot of fat on the upper eyelids, the kind of eyes that rejected double eyelid glue, double eyelid tape, everything.... The surgical method was to make a small horizontal incision of about 3 mm on the upper eyelid, remove the orbital fat, and close it with one stitch. The incision was made about 3 mm above the upper eyelashes, and now the scar is so unnoticeable that it can hardly be seen even under light. Like typical double eyelid surgery, it was done with brief sedation + local anesthesia. During the surgery, I woke up from the sedation and asked the doctor to show me the fat that had been removed, and they did. I still remember two yellow lumps of fat about 1.3 cm in diameter.
After surgery, my upper eyelids definitely felt lighter. The heaviness my eyes felt when closing and opening them was reduced. Especially when I touched my upper eyelids with my hand, I remember feeling moved by the firmness of my eyeballs for the first time in my life(...). They had always felt soft and puffy, haha.
For those who do not want double eyelids at all, not even inner double eyelids, and only want to remove upper eyelid fat, I think this surgery is worth considering!
