I’m somewhat satisfied with the surgery itself, but the consultant’s response was so absurd haha
* Side effects I experienced over two months 1. Double vision (went away a few days after surgery) 2. Wrinkles formed like a deflated balloon (when I smiled, wrinkles spread across the cheekbone area, then disappeared after about a month and a half) 3. Wound on the eye mucous membrane (my terribly weak skin got injured and is healing.. my skin is on the delicate side, but it was still injured.. the clinic also gave me ophthalmic ointment and treated it fairly responsibly) 4. Symptoms of ectropion (this really put me through emotional ups and downs, and it was so stressful.. it’s almost all better now..) 5. Headache (I think I took Tylenol for about two weeks..) 6. When I moved my eyes downward, the pulling/heavy sensation made it impossible to look down (I ended up cleaning my room roughly, stacked books under my work keyboard, and took a reading stand with me when I had to look at documents haha) +Foreign-body sensation when looking down (still there at two months) 7. Couldn’t lower my head because of the same pulling/heavy sensation as in no. 6..ㅠ (I learned how to wash my hair without lowering my head) 8. If I applied sunscreen around my eyes, it would clump and pill like dead skin rubbing off;; (first time in my life this ever happened, but it was temporary and got better!! It doesn’t happen anymore) 9. It still aches sometimes and feels like someone hit me once (I’ve never been hit, but I think this is what it would feel like.. basically like I bumped into something hard..) 10. A deep wrinkle formed around the under-eye aegyo-sal area (I don’t think this one will go away..)
*Things that upset me 1. Deposit payment date (mid-July) -Consultant: You can come for a follow-up one week after surgery (no mention that the doctor would be off) 2. Day of surgery (around the Chuseok holiday) -Front desk staff: On day 3 after surgery, come in to remove the tape and check progress, then come again one week later for another follow-up. But the doctor will be off. You can remove the tape yourself (...ㅡㅡ?) -Consultant: We have no obligation to inform the patient that the doctor will be off (...ㅡㅡ? I was so angry I wanted to go home without having surgery, but as an office worker, I had no option other than the Chuseok holiday) 3. Three days after surgery - I asked them to make an appointment so nursing staff could remove the tape according to the original procedure - A nurse removed the tape and I received LED treatment, but the nurse said the eye discharge wouldn’t come off and tried several times. In the end it still didn’t come off, and they told me to make sure to remove it when I got home About two weeks later, I used a personal day off and saw the doctor, and found out it wasn’t eye discharge but an area where the skin had been gouged out;; After it was gouged, white tissue had filled in.. If I had been examined sooner, I would have found out sooner that it wasn’t eye discharge..
