I had typical male skin that was thick and oily.
My first rhinoplasty was over 10 years ago (silicone on the nasal bridge, ear cartilage for the nasal tip), and the second was about 7-8 years ago (silicone replacement on the nasal bridge, ear cartilage for the nasal tip, alar reduction).
My nasal bridge was high, but the tip was round, the columella was short, and the alar skin was very thick.
I had my first surgery at a private clinic in Apgujeong that was fairly well-known, and because they had made my nasal bridge too high, like a celebrity’s, during the second surgery I lowered it to about 1 mm (the idea was to lay it thinly), made the nasal tip a bit slimmer, and reduced the nostril wings.
I was busy living my life, and with COVID I couldn’t travel either.. Recently, my nose seemed lower, bulkier, shorter, and crooked,
so after intense searching and visiting 10 clinics, I added some vacation days to the last Lunar New Year holiday and had revision rhinoplasty.
This didn’t exist in the past, but these days every clinic took CT scans,
and I went to both private clinics and large hospitals evenly. I think I met almost everyone said to be famous for noses.
At a large hospital where I had gone for a consultation for surgery on another area, I had some time left, so I asked the consultant, “If there is a director who is good at revision rhinoplasty, could you recommend them?”
And by pure chance, they matched me with a director I hadn’t even searched for, and for whom there wasn’t much information or many reviews even if you tried to search.
First of all, the director was very kind, and during a consultation that lasted over an hour, he answered everything I was curious about and examined me carefully.
And above all, he confidently said he could improve the points I considered complexes, so I really liked that. At 9 out of the 10 places, they either had a different aesthetic sense from the nose style I had in mind, told me the areas I pointed out weren’t a problem, or were passive, saying there was almost no room for improvement.
But this director had been doing only noses for over 10 years (he had also worked at a clinic that was once famous for noses), and because his aesthetic sense was closest to what I had in mind + he showed a very confident attitude + he carefully looked at even the parts I had not thought of, I trusted him 1000%.
I know how difficult revision surgery is for a short, thick bulbous nose.....
But since I wanted this to be my last surgery and I still couldn’t feel at ease, I had 2 more consultations with the director before surgery. So 3 consultations in total...
But every time, he consulted with me very kindly, precisely, and confidently,
and I had the surgery during the last holiday.
No need for long words, I am 200000% satisfied.
One side of the nostril wing that had drooped down wasn’t improved 100%, but it was almost improved, and my nose that looked spread out and short became prominent and slimmer, so my facial proportions improved a lot.
The surgery was: alar reduction, lifting one alar rim, using the existing ear cartilage in the nasal tip + donated costal cartilage, replacing the silicone on the nasal bridge while only raising the starting point (the thickness is almost the same, 1-2 mm?) + while I was at it, I also had rhinitis surgery together.
It has only been a little over 2 weeks since surgery, so there is still a lot of swelling, but I am very satisfied.
The reason I’m going out of my way to write this is because the director is truly skilled, but he is not very well known, which feels like a shame, so I’m writing with the thought, <Please let there be no one who doesn’t know our director who is good at revision rhinoplasty!!>.
For reference, I haven’t signed up for any cosmetic surgery apps... I’m old-school, so this community is the only cosmetic surgery-related community I use.

Since he is so good at revision surgery, I think he would also do well with first surgeries. If only I had met this doctor over 10 years ago (of course, his skills are probably even better now than back then!)
