I live in Busan and it’s hard for me to go to Seoul, so I’m currently going around Busan for consultations for my first nose surgery! I went to two places in total today. For reference, I don’t know nose surgery in detail… I went without much thought… and without knowledge, so my explanations may be lacking. Please understand the informal shorthand style!
1. ㅎㄴ This is a hospital I had heard a lot about from people around me for nose surgery, so I visited it first, and I had also received a consultation there once 2 years ago. I have a bulbous nose, so I’m looking into surgery for improvement. When I went today, through the consultant, I was able to consult right away with Dr. ㄱㅇㅎ, who is famous for nose surgery at this hospital. Silicone + osteotomy + septal cartilage + ear cartilage were recommended, and they said they would use my own septal cartilage as much as possible and try to raise it. I was worried whether I should also reduce the nostril wings and whether it might become an upturned nose, so I asked, but they said it wasn’t necessary for me and did not recommend it. If there isn’t enough septal cartilage, donated costal cartilage would be needed, but because it costs a lot, they told me to go home and think about that, and that we should use my own tissue as much as possible. When I spoke again with the consultant, they explained safety in detail, saying the aftercare period is 2 years. And the doctor also explained in great detail so I could understand the surgery I would receive. It felt more focused on improving the complex I have about my nose than matching the photos I brought. They said the quote would somehow be 4 million won with all that included.
2. ㄷㅍㅇㅅ Maybe because they have a lot of consultations these days, the wait here took 1 hour… Then they took nose photos, I consulted with the consultant, and because I had prepared photos on my phone beforehand, they told me to keep them open and show them to the doctor while talking. They were very kind, and I consulted with the doctor. It was Dr. ㅎ. Silicone + septal cartilage or donated costal cartilage + ear cartilage + osteotomy + nostril wing reduction + fat removal were recommended. After a sufficient consultation, together with the consultant again, they explained various things even without me asking, such as questions I might have, aftercare being 2 years, the schedule for follow-up visits afterward, and support for supplies needed after surgery. I had written down questions I saw online, but there wasn’t much need for them. But because there was so much they said needed to be done, it felt like a big burden… The more things there are to do, the bigger the surgery seems like it will become, and I feel like there will be more to worry about regarding side effects… But the cost came out to 4 million won if using septal cartilage, and 4.9 million won if using donated costal cartilage…
Both doctors have over 20 years of experience… It’s hard to chooseㅠㅠ
Both have pros and cons, so it’s still… ambiguous. For now I scheduled consultations at 3 more places: ㅇㅇㅇㅋ, ㅁㅇ, and ㄷㅁ!
