I had consultations for revision eye surgery this time and went to a total of 4 places. For reference, 6 years ago I had ptosis correction + medial epicanthoplasty, and I currently have asymmetry, a narrow distance between my eyes and eyebrows, thick and droopy eyelids, and my eyes feel heavy. The surgical direction I want is definitely an incisional method.
1. ㅁㅊㅍ The director was very conservative. He took photos of my eyes and explained while looking at them. He said he wouldn’t particularly recommend ptosis correction, and that if I wanted to get rid of the heavy feeling, it could be reduced by cutting and removing some tissue through an incisional method, but it wouldn’t be perfect. He also said that because my eyelids are thick, the higher the line is raised, the more protruding it would look. He said the best option would be a forehead lift, but his clinic doesn’t do it, and since it might feel burdensome for my age group, he told me to think about it.
2. ㅇㅁㄷ I consulted with Director ㅂㄷㄱ, and Director Park also said he doesn’t like the expression “natural-glam,” but that my eyes right now are exactly natural-glam. He said if the line is raised any higher from here, it would become too flashy, and the distance between my eyes would also look narrower. Just like at ㅁㅊㅍ, he recommended a forehead lift. He said there was no need to touch my eyes. So I quickly had a consultation with a director who can do forehead lifts, and he said the current line only looks that way because it is drooping, but it is not actually on the thin side, so if it is lifted with a forehead lift, the heaviness in my eyes would decrease and the line would become higher than now.
For now, up to the second consultation, the two directors had the same opinion.
3. ㅇㅇㄱㄹ The director here recommended incisional double eyelid surgery + upper epicanthoplasty, and regarding the heaviness in my eyes, he said it was puzzling because my eye-opening strength isn’t lacking and I already have a line. He said even if I had surgery, he wouldn’t know whether the heaviness would go away or not. Then he said I didn’t need a forehead lift, so because I was curious about what I had been told before, I said that because my eyes feel heavy, when I lift my forehead with my hand it feels a bit more comfortable, and then he said I should get it. It felt less like he was guiding me toward a better direction and more like, “If you want to do it, do it,” so I didn’t really like it..
4. ㅍㄹㅇㅂ I consulted with Director ㅇㅈㅇ, and when he consulted with me, he clearly and directly pointed out only the exact parts I had been concerned about for the first time, to the point that I immediately wanted to do it there. Just like above, he recommended incisional double eyelid surgery + upper epicanthoplasty, and said my eye-opening strength is slightly lacking, but if I’m not trying to go for a wide-open, bold-eyed look, I don’t necessarily need ptosis correction. Like the third clinic, when I asked about a forehead lift, he kindly said that a forehead lift is also a good method, but if we pull things upward while there is asymmetry, the heaviness may be reduced, but the asymmetry would look more noticeable, so he thinks that should be the last resort. He said for now, let’s try to lift and match the asymmetry and the drooping double eyelid line.
I liked the last one the most, so I just put down a reservation deposit that same day. The consultant didn’t pressure me about the deposit either, was straightforward, and didn’t pressure me to add anything else.
If anyone here has had revision eye surgery at the last place, please let me know how it was~
