Both eyes were severely bad, around minus 14 (myopia + astigmatism), and my eyesight was so poor that I couldn’t wear glasses unless the lenses were compressed.
I didn’t want to get surgery at a factory-style place, so I went around looking carefully, and I chose this place with peace of mind because the director limited the number of people he operated on per day (I think it was probably within 10 people), the operating space was open, and guardians could watch from beyond a glass window.
I went for a consultation in the fall of 2015 (even back then, there were so many people at the ophthalmology clinic that I waited about 1-2 hours). Fortunately, it took two or three months? a little less than that, before I had surgery My eyesight was very bad, but my corneal thickness wasn’t that thick, so they recommended LASEK, and they told me in advance that it would take some time for my vision to come out
The surgery finished quickly on the day, and at the time I wore eye shields and sunglasses (it’s been a long time now, so this may have changed) They told me not to look at light and to be careful, and prescribed painkillers, eye drops, and things like that. Right after surgery it didn’t hurt that much, but as time passed, my eyes started to feel slightly sore/stinging and I began tearing a lot. Then after a day or two, it gets much better I went to the hospital the day after surgery too, (to remove the protective lenses) and the next week I also went to the hospital for a checkup.
As for my vision coming out, in my case my eyesight had been so bad that it took about 3 weeks to go up above 1.0 After more than a month, both eyes came out around 1.2. I already had severe dry eye syndrome, so I didn’t really feel that it became much worse. However, for eye health, I consistently do warm eye compresses in winter.
I went for regular checkups every month and every 6 months, then from after 1-2 years I stopped going, but even now, 9 years later, my vision is maintained, so I’m very satisfied. To the point where I wonder how I lived wearing those thick glasses before surgery haha I’m extremely satisfied.
