About 7 years ago, I had surgery with a closed approach using 3.2 mm ear cartilage. I had a foreign-body sensation at the nasal tip, and it felt pulling, tight, and constricted. It seemed worse when my body was tired, and the nasal tip was hard, so it was always uncomfortable. Especially because I was always worried about injuring my nose, I lived with an obsessive need to be careful. At some point, the area around the nasal tip bulb looked like something was about to protrude, and it looked strange, as if something was showing through. When I had a CT scan at the hospital where I had the surgery, I was told that the silicone had moved downward and pushed the cartilage out, which really shocked me. Now I’m facing the reality of needing revision surgery. I’m debating whether to remove the silicone entirely or have revision surgery. Even now, my nasal tip feels tight, as if it has been tied with a rubber band. I think rhinoplasty is something you really need to think carefully about before doing. Please also recommend hospitals that are good at revision surgery.
