Before <before surgery> Before <after surgery> Before <after surgery> I am three months post-op from rhinoplasty.
This was my first rhinoplasty, and because I wanted to finish it in one surgery without revision surgery, I looked into autologous costal cartilage from the first surgery.
0. Reason for choosing this hospital Through various plastic surgery communities and apps, I narrowed it down to 5 places with reviews I liked, and among them I decided to have surgery with Director Lee Jin-hwa at “Private Plastic Surgery Clinic.” There were several reasons I chose this hospital, but the main reasons were: 1. There were a lot of reviews, and I liked them the most. 2. Both the consultant and the director were very kind. 3. They immediately identified the problems and suggested clear solutions. Those were some of the reasons. Especially when I requested another consultation while I still had not firmly decided on surgery, they consulted with me even more kindly and in detail, so I became confident about the hospital.
The consultant also said it was important to receive a thorough consultation before deciding, and listened to all my questions, which made me trust the hospital even more.
1. Preparation process before surgery Before going into surgery, I made and brought a Photoshop image of the nose shape I wanted. They said the surgical direction was clear and not difficult, so I think I felt at ease. Since I was coming up from a regional area, I prepared in advance everything I could before surgery, arranged my accommodation, and then went to the plastic surgery clinic on the day of surgery.
It was a morning surgery, and after consulting with the director in the morning, the doctor personally explained the precautions for rhinoplasty and the general details before and after surgery, and then I went into surgery. They asked me once more about the final shape and style I wanted, so although I was nervous, on the other hand I felt they were meticulous.
2. Immediately before and after surgery I went in feeling very nervous before surgery, but the consultant guiding me tried to help me relax as much as possible, saying it would be over when I woke up. Thanks to that, I relaxed as much as I could and lay down on the operating table. There were many medical staff in the operating room as well, and everyone helped carefully and kindly. I was especially grateful that Director Lee Jin-hwa came in and talked to me to help me relax. Not long after I lay down on the operating table, I fell asleep, and when I woke up the surgery was over.
For two days after the surgery, my nose hurt. But it was not unbearable, and when I took the painkillers the hospital gave me and Tylenol, it was tolerable enough. From two days later, I did not feel pain, but it was a bit uncomfortable because my nose was blocked and the autologous costal cartilage surgical site felt stiff.
3. Postoperative visits I visited on days 1, 3, 7, and 14 to check the progress. I did not feel any pain at all when the stitches were removed, and removing the cotton on day 3 was difficult, but actually it was not that difficult. It felt like getting a COVID test.
After one week, there was nothing painful or difficult at all. From one week post-op, I lived my daily life as usual.
4. Satisfaction & reactions from people around me Even if I went back, I would have surgery at this hospital. As you can tell just from my review, I have a very meticulous and cautious personality. Before surgery, I visited several hospitals and looked up an enormous number of reviews. It was a hospital I chose that carefully, and I am very satisfied. They made a nose that suits my face the best, and I think it could not be more perfect than this.
In fact, after surgery, many people around me asked about the hospital and the director. Even if my family were to get surgery, I would recommend this hospital.
Lastly, if you are planning rhinoplasty, I think it would be good to visit once and receive a consultation.
