Before <the last photo was around 2 weeks after> After <after one month had passed and after getting a swelling injection> I originally didn’t have double eyelids, but as I grew up, I became a case where only one side developed a double eyelid. At first I just lived with it thinking that was how it was, but it gradually started bothering me, so I suddenly decided to get double eyelid surgery. I searched here and there and went to consultations at several places over two days (I was also interested in under-eye fat repositioning, so I asked about that too), and the director at the hospital where I had the surgery gave me the consultation in the direction that could best improve my shortcomings. First of all, my eyelids are a bit saggy and my eyeballs protrude somewhat, so I wanted incisional double eyelid surgery with an out-line, and under-eye fat repositioning as well. The director said that if I only did under-eye fat repositioning, my face would just look flat, and since I don’t have much anterior cheek volume, it would be better to do filler or fat grafting together. Anyway, after finishing the consultations, I kept thinking carefully about where to do it (because every hospital said different things, I really thought about it a lot...) I kept looking in the mirror and also kept looking at the faces of female celebrities on TV, and then I understood what they meant by my face being flat, and it really hit me. So even though the price was a bit expensive, I decided to have the surgery right away. (For filler, in my view it only lasts about 6 months and costs several hundred thousand won, whereas they said fat grafting can be semi-permanent if managed well, so I decided on fat grafting.)
I was worried it would hurt a lot after surgery, but there was no pain at all. Because I had 3 surgeries done at once, the anesthesia briefly wore off around the time they were suturing my eyes... half-asleep lol I lay down in the recovery room for a bit, woke up, listened to the precautions, received a cold-compress eye mask and prescription, and came home. But I was the type to bruise and swell quite a lot. So I kept doing cold compresses, and when I visited the hospital on day 7 to have the stitches removed, they also did a bruise and swelling laser treatment. After the stitches were removed, I wasn’t very good about doing compresses, so instead I bought swelling-reducing medicine at the pharmacy and took it. When I went to the hospital for my one-month follow-up, I still had swelling, so I got a swelling-reducing injection (it hurtㅠ) and they did laser once more. Also, the front of the right-side line looked like it might be starting to scar a little, so they said it would be good to apply scar ointment, and I’ve been applying it. (The hospital is close to Jongno, so I went to Boryung Pharmacy while buying other medicine too, and it’s really cheap. Onyu Pharmacy next door is also apparently a wholesale pharmacy, and that place is affordable too, so if you have a reason to go to Jongno, try stopping by.) For now, I’m scheduled to go again in two months, and after getting the swelling injection, the swelling definitely went down a lot, so I’m relieved. Maybe because I did fat grafting together with the under-eye procedure too, I definitely look less tired. My mom already keeps looking at me and saying it’s fascinating, that I got prettier, and that she wants to do it too, but I still feel a bit awkward lol. I expected it would take time anyway, so I’m going to wait a little more.
