Before <before epicanthoplasty restoration (concern)> After <surgery day (immediately after)> After <suture removal> After <suture removal> After <suture removal> First of all, I had my restoration done as soon as it had been 6 months after my epicanthoplasty. My impression looked harsh, and the inner corners of both eyes were different, so I was just waiting for the 6-month mark ㅠㅠ I found the clinic by searching for epicanthoplasty restoration on YouTube!
I’m not sure if it comes across in the photos, but > this eye had slightly more lacrimal lake exposure, < and my concern with this eye was that it looked slightly like a ㄷ shape.
They said they couldn’t make the inner corners of both eyes exactly identical, but that it would be better than now, and that my harsh-looking impression would improve while both the lacrimal lake exposure and the ㄷ-shaped appearance would get better, so I didn’t compare a bunch of places. I had consultations at just two clinics and got the surgery.
The director was extremely meticulous during the surgery, and I could feel that he was really focused on me. (I did it under local anesthesia.) We checked everything while looking in the mirror, then finished the restoration, and even when I was in the recovery room, the director came by and explained various things before leaving. When my sutures were removed, the director personally checked me too haha. I think this is the first clinic where the director checked on me at each step like this. Also, the nurse who removed the sutures took them out without hurting at all, so I’m quite satisfied with the whole surgical process too!
My intercanthal distance before surgery was 3.2 cm. I had the sutures removed on day 8, and the intercanthal distance measured after suture removal was 3.5 cm. They told me to moisturize well from now on, so I’m carefully applying a thin layer of ophthalmic ointment. They said that as it recovers over about 2-3 months, the shape will feel like it slightly relaxes, so I’m going to believe that the crease coming down in front of the eye will improve!
I had the surgery with the head director, and the cost was 2.42 million KRW. I heard there is no extra fee even if you do sleep sedation anesthesia.
Oh, and I’ve been to many clinics so far, but this was the first director I met who was this meticulous yet honest and fun? There’s a lot of talk about restoration clinics, but... I think it really is something you have to experience yourself.
