Revision eye surgery / under-eye fat repositioning consultation review

I’m writing about what I personally felt, so I’m jotting down my consultation reviews as they come to mind, thinking they might be even a little helpful for everyone looking into revision eye surgery and under-eye fat repositioning like me. I went to 2 places, and I was open to going to more if it felt insufficient, but I think I’ll book surgery at one of these places.. I had spent a long~ time researching online, and after going to the consultations, there was a clinic I liked, so I wanted to finish the surgery within this year.

1. Ilm*r (Sinnonhyeon) There are several directors, but I heard it’s hard to book the head director, so I had a consultation with a director who was available right away. I figured things like aftercare and A/S would be the same no matter which director I had, so I wasn’t too concerned. I also generally thought of it as a clinic that does natural-looking results.

-> My requests: I want to improve my dark circles, the line is too low so I want it higher and I want my eyes to look bigger

Director’s opinion: They said under-eye fat repositioning was a must. They said the fat bulging makes the shadowing look severe. They said dark circles can be improved by releasing this and pulling the fat downward, and that under-eye fat repositioning could resolve it. Usually surgery is done with either lower blepharoplasty or under-eye fat repositioning, and since I’m in my 20s, they said under-eye fat repositioning would be enough. But they did say lower blepharoplasty is indeed the more effective surgery. (Because they said fat repositioning is a surgery that can only reposition the fat.) For the double eyelids, they said I need revision surgery with an incisional method, and recommended doing medial epicanthoplasty and upper epicanthoplasty together. They said that would make my eyes look much more open and refreshed, and if I wanted, there is some room in the outer corners too, so I could also consider lateral canthoplasty. (The line was a natural in-out line.) The A/S period was 1 year.

-> Final: Incisional method (revision surgery) + medial epicanthoplasty + upper epicanthoplasty + under-eye fat repositioning

2. Oll* (Apgujeong) This is a one-director clinic, so you don’t need to designate anyone separately. But it’s a little hard to book on weekends, so I booked this place first and then booked clinic #1 lol. I went because this place also seemed good at natural-looking results.

-> My requests: I said something similar to the above, but additionally.. would canthoplasty make it look too excessive? I added that question.

Director’s opinion: First, they explained why under-eye fat develops. The biggest reason is aging (just something that naturally happens..), and next, they said it can look that way in people who congenitally have lower cheekbones or who don’t have volume in the anterior cheek. I was the very latter case. Since the director first explained the cause, it felt like my questions were clearly answered. Because people often say under-eye fat repositioning or lower blepharoplasty itself is surgery for middle age or after your 30s.. But I’m in my 20s ^^ So I’d been hit with reality a bit, and after hearing the director’s explanation, I understood. Anyway, here too, they said I don’t need lower blepharoplasty, and that it could be improved enough with under-eye fat repositioning. They said I can resume daily life even the next day, but for about a week I should be careful with my eyes and allow a recovery period. For double eyelid surgery, revision with an incisional method! They designed the line as an in-out line, but said lateral canthoplasty would be excessive and that medial epicanthoplasty alone would be enough to make my eyes look more open than now. Oh, and the director also told me precautions before surgery (medications I shouldn’t take?). They said there are many blood vessels under the eyes, so I need to be especially careful. The consultation was thorough. The A/S period was 3 years.

-> Final: Incisional method (revision surgery) + medial epicanthoplasty + under-eye fat repositioning
