Since summer, I’ve been going around to consultations and writing posts, and after getting liposuction, I got obsessive about swelling and wrote posts, and now that it’s been two months, I’m writing again!
(ㅜㅜ Some people here who were worried about glandular accessory breast tissue saw my post and said they were curious about the review, so I’ll try to explain in detail.)
--------------------
First of all, my upper-arm fat had always been a concern, along with the accessory breasts that came with it.. and the pain..! I gained a lot of weight this time, so I decided to get surgery while I was at it.
Originally, whenever I pressed on the accessory breast area near my armpit, it hurt like someone was hitting a breast lump, but it used to be even worse in the past T.T Whenever my period was approaching, the pain would get so bad that I couldn’t raise my arms overhead, so I had a surgical ultrasound exam. The doctor said I had four breasts, and gave me various advice and told me to be careful not to gain weight, but after I got injured and couldn’t exercise, I gained 8-9 kg over half a year+
Thanks to that, the pain in my armpits came back too, and I thought, I need to find a hospital that can do glandular tissue removal + arm liposuction together! So I searched a huge amount, and as a result.
Glandular tissue removal (general surgery) + liposuction (plastic surgery) There were fewer hospitals that did both together than I expected, and even when they did, the surgical perspective and the cosmetic-surgery perspective were so different that I felt it would be hard to fully satisfy both needs..
○General surgery: whether the glandular tissue was completely removed or not (not about how the arm liposuction line looks X) ○Plastic surgery: glandular tissue removal cannot be done here. However, some fat and glandular tissue can be removed (because it may come out together, 40-60% removal)
So I decided to change the order: do liposuction first → and later, if the pain gets worse, have general surgery.
Then I booked surgery at the place I found. Why?
❶The hospital was clean and refined, with a newly built feel ❷The consultation manager was elegant and very competent among all the people I’d seen so far (everyone was kind) ❸For liposuction, the chief director is famous, but considering my current situation, they connected me with another director who had worked in general surgery. During the consultation with the doctor, there was a PPT explanation + tremendous confidence in the surgical results (to compare, it felt like someone young but sharp and excellent at their job; in any case, I could feel that confidence too) ❹They were the only place that said I didn’t need to wear a compression garment ❺Unlimited scar-management aftercare
They said this was definitely a case that would go well and that I’d be satisfied, and that felt very trustworthy! Giving confidence to the person receiving surgery was like giving a wandering liposuction nomad, who had been unsure, a reason to settle down, should I say?
It was a [upper arms + accessory breasts + armpits + collarbone] package, so I was debating the back bulge, and the doctor said if I like taking photos and my clothing style includes tops or clothes with exposure, then do it, otherwise I didn’t have to. Haha, because of that comment, I added itㅋㅋㅋ
And for the glandular tissue too, they said some removal was possible, and I also chose the hospital because they said scar management was unlimited.
[ Keloid-prone skin + the type who is extremely attentive to skin ] I figured it would be okay even if only the scar pigmentation was treated with a toning laser (and for raised scarring, I’d get additional injections)
So I paid the deposit and finally, the long-awaited surgery day! I was so nervous, but they packed snacks and the prescription in a shopping bag, pharmacy → InBody and blood pressure check → design consultation with the doctor → surgery started The doctor even said they had really been waiting all this time, (that line made me feel good) and reassured me once again that it would go well, so my scared heart felt steadier! They removed 1200 cc.
-After surgery-
Immediately after: This is like being in a traffic accident. I have to survive. I don’t even know what state of mind I was in, but I got up right away, ate the snack, and threw the medication I’d received into my mouth first haha.. (The doctor said it was difficult because I had more muscle than expected, but at the time I just thought, I guess so.)
Day 1: It really hurt ㅠㅠㅠ Was it because there were many surgical areas? Compared with people who only had their arms done, the center around my collarbone and chest plate was beyond bruised; it felt squishy, like fluid had built up... My mom saw the photo and said it looked like I’d been hit by a dump truck.
Day 3: Because the surgery period fell during a holiday, I went to a salon to get my hair shampooed + with the thought that I needed to eat well, I ate, and then the swelling reached its peak. My weight increased by 3 kg compared with before surgery, so I was shocked, and even though I knew the facts, I asked ChatGPT all sorts of things like whether it was swelling.
Day 5: Since day 3, I had been walking for over an hour, so my weight and swelling gradually started to go down. One week: The bruises were turning yellow, the arm area suddenly became hard, and I couldn’t raise my arms (lumpiness/tightness phenomenon)
One week-2 weeks: Maybe this was the most gloomy period? My arms got really big! There was no difference from before surgery, and they were extremely hard, like walking on my arms.
Week 2: Stitches were removed and I had one medium-frequency care session (the swelling suddenly went down a lot the next day!)
Week 3: Major bruises disappeared (purple, yellow), and I had one radiofrequency care session (the swelling suddenly went down a lot again the next day!)
Week 4: I had a second medium-frequency care session (I could raise both arms overhead!)
Seeing that things loosened well whenever I received radiofrequency at the hospital, I thought it might also be okay to get it at an aesthetic clinic!
And after one month, the major swelling went down and the line definitely became prettier! And for skinny arms, I think I need to lose weight along with it to get the arms I want.. Compared with the day of surgery, I’ve only lost 2 kg, so my body doesn’t look very different, but I’m definitely so, so satisfied with the accessory breast area!!
The armpit shape that used to be like \ / changed to this: ㅣ ㅣ!! I’m most satisfied with this part ㅠㅠㅠ Compared with my arm line when I managed my weight the strictest, I’m heavier now, but just looking at the line (not the volume), it seems prettier? I could definitely tell this is a line that couldn’t have come out at this weight!
I want skinny arms, but for that, I think I’ll need to lose about -5 kg first for it to show! And if I don’t lose weight, ㅜㅜ there is still fat left around the upper-arm and armpit area, so I really think dieting is absolutely essential.......!
