Nose Re-Surgery

My whole year has been hell because of my nose

After <1st surgery 1 year ago>After <2nd a/s surgery 6 months ago>Before <I want to go back to this time when I wasn’t in pain>After <taping wound>When I see posts from everyone struggling with major complications after surgery, I start crying because it feels like they’re going through the same unbearable mental pain I am.. A year ago I went to a consultation near Yangjae and decided on the same day. Since childhood I had severe rhinitis and sinusitis, and I had already had surgery once before, but it got worse, so I decided to consult an ENT doctor. This was a revision surgery aimed at functional nose surgery for rhinitis, sinusitis, and so on, plus columella correction and filling to fix the nose tip I didn’t like (the elegant look). Trusting the surgeon’s personality and experience, I had functional nose surgery (rhinitis, sinusitis, and so many more things), and cosmetic nose surgery (septal cartilage, donated rib cartilage, nasolabial angle, nostril lifting, cat-nose surgery..) done. The first result was astonishingly pretty, and as someone who is very picky, I was 100% satisfied! I was so grateful that I even thought I should post review and promotional photos, so every day I kept taking photos of the results..

But exactly one month later, after 28 days, the nose collapsed, the shape twisted, a hole opened inside, and blood and pieces of bone came out. I still have them stored in case I need them. They cut off the protruding part with scissors, treated it, prescribed antibiotics, and said I had to wait 6 months for an a/s procedure, so I spent days that felt like hell. I run a beauty shop, but I could barely go in. The moment I went inside, even just being near the nail-art booth made the inside of my nose sting and hurt, even with a mask on, and even standing near the gas stove hurt. If someone next to me ate spicy food, it hurt, and I couldn’t even imagine that just breathing could be so hard for a person. Because I started avoiding meeting people, could I have lived normally? Taking sleeping pills? Once the situation became extreme, that became a basic necessity

The biggest misery was enduring 6 months and then getting surgery again. I just want to die. Even I can feel that my mind has become abnormal too. My nose is harder to breathe through than before surgery, it’s twisted, and it’s unbelievably difficult. I spent a whole year enduring this, was it for this result? I’m so exhausted thinking about what I should do next, which doctor I can trust with my nose, and whether it will ever return to normal. From the start of the nose bridge, it drifts to the left, the columella scar is there as a matter of course, and there’s a scar on the bridge of my nose (when I said scar, I was told people would say I was threatening to sue, and I was told to call it pigmentation instead. The hospital has done 1 of 5 laser sessions.) I have a narrow between-eyebrows area so I didn’t want a high bridge, but it was made high, and the bigger problem is that the whole thing is not fixed and keeps moving. I have to sleep with a splint on at night so it twists less, and the next day breathing becomes smoother and the pain at least lessens, so I’ve been wearing a splint for a year now. My skin has become as weak as it can be from repeated taping, and at the hospital where I had surgery they even caused a wound while removing the tape, and when I asked for help there was no real solution, so I even got treatment at my own expense.

My husband hates plastic surgery, so I hid it and had the operation timed around his business trip, but... well, could I really hide it? He still scolds me about it, but he makes time to come to the hospital with me because he can see how hard this is on me.

The time has come when I can have a revision, but because I live in the provinces, it takes more than 3 hours to get to Seoul, and if I decide to go, I have to go up and do consultations at two hospitals a day. Besides my husband and one friend, I feel awkward asking people around me for help with this because I’m suffering from plastic-surgery complications, and I’m scared of what they’ll think, so I can’t say anything. Can everyone here help me? The hospital says to do another revision by only adding the autologous rib cartilage cost, but I’ve lost trust, so I’m really struggling. Day and night I come into this community, but there are many places that give hospital names in initials, and it doesn’t really feel sincere to me. I don’t know how I ended up like this even though I was someone who didn’t doubt things. I hesitated for a year, and now I, someone who isn’t good with words or writing, am here like this To everyone who read this long post all the way to the end, thank you. Please help me too. I’m really desperate, so I’m asking.
