After failing once with my first surgery, I realized that the nose the doctor wants = the nose I want needs to match to some extent for me to feel satisfied design-wise First of all, refined but natural-looking, <definitely not flashy, not just natural either!> and a straight-to-slightly-curved line, designing it slimly were my biggest goals, and reviews were a given; when I went for consultations, I checked how much the doctor reflected my opinions, then went ahead with surgery
And most of all, when I said I wanted to do it like this -> rather than a place that says ok no matter what.... since the doctor is a plastic surgery expert after all, I like places that explain each reason, whether there is a better direction, and things like that one by one. While visiting places for revision surgery, I was really torn between donated rib cartilage/autologous costal cartilage, but my skin is thick and my bridge was already fairly high, so after hearing the explanation, I chose autologous costal cartilage as the most suitable material and had the surgery
Actually, it’s been over 4 months since my revision rhinoplasty lol so the discomfort and pain on surgery day are now half forgotten and half beautified in my memory... ^^ Maybe it won’t help everyone much? Still, compared with my first surgery, there was less nasal pain and discomfort, and what bothered me most was probably the autologous costal cartilage harvest site. The scar was a bit noticeable in the beginning, but thankfully the wound healed well, and I apply scar ointment whenever I remember, so now it has faded a lot! = In other words, scar care really is the answer.....
And everyone planning autologous costal cartilage surgery like me (for reference, I had general anesthesia), be sure to check whether an anesthesiology doctor is on-site!! The surgical result is important too, but in practice safety is the most important. Everyone, get surgery safely *-*
