First of all, my nose has a low bridge + short nose + bulbous nose + thick skin + retracted columella + small and weak septal cartilage. No matter which plastic surgery YouTube videos I watch, doctors all say this is a difficult case So I thought a lot about rhinoplasty, but I’m such a scaredy-cat that I kept putting it off, and recently I finally went for consultations. I’m posting this for my own records + in hopes it may help everyone here even a little!

1. ㅇㄹ -Single-doctor clinic -I went because having a female director was a plus, she had many years of experience, and there were many bulbous nose reviews -Consultation: consultant → doctor → consultant; the doctor’s consultation was extremely thorough, over 30 minutes -Very safety-focused -The shape felt more like “natural-glam” than purely natural; the doctor has a very firm personal style -She lifted and lowered my nose with a cotton swab and shaped it for me -No CT scan. When I asked why they don’t take one, they said CT scans aren’t accurate and directly palpating is much better. She did actually insert a cotton swab deep inside the nose to check the nose/septal cartilage -The doctor’s consultation style is on the firm side. Up to that point it felt professional, so it was okay, but during the consultation I felt looked down on several times. I won’t write the specifics, but it wasn’t just my feeling; the friend who came with me told me the same later -Continued follow-up care for up to one year, seen directly by the doctor -Has CCTV (can only be viewed if there is a problem situation) -Light sedation, so they put you to sleep and wake you up repeatedly. No anesthesiology specialist -My septal cartilage is almost nonexistent, so they said they shouldn’t just build it up blindly or tie the cartilage. It could look pinched. They need to use inner septal cartilage and ear cartilage to create the alar contour. I went because they said they would use 4 mm silicone naturally, but I thought it was higher than expected. When I asked if it could be lowered more, she confidently said the height she recommended would still look prettier -Portrait rights, review, cash price: 4.8 million KRW
2. ㅁㅇㄷ(ㅇㄱㅇ) -I went because I heard they correct bulbous noses well, and I also liked their reviews -The clinic felt a bit hectic -Consultation: consultant → doctor → consultant; doctor’s consultation was about 5 minutes? -He drew on my nose photo on the screen by adding more to it, but honestly when I saw it I was like, huh..? Since it was just a drawing, I didn’t really have anything to say The doctor seemed a bit tired? -At this time I had such strong resistance to costal cartilage that I think I didn’t receive the consultation in detail. The doctor suggested using costal cartilage, saying that because my skin is thick, I would ultimately need costal cartilage to get the result I want -Based on autologous costal cartilage, after various discounts it was 7.5 million KRW. Gasp… -The doctor performs 2-3 surgeries per day, revision/AS is free for 1 year, aftercare includes laser and sebum care, etc., but it doesn’t seem like you continue seeing the doctor after surgery
3. ㅋㅇㅍㄹㅅ(ㄱㅈㅇ) -The clinic atmosphere just felt comfortable -CT fee: 10,000 KRW -From this point on, my resistance to costal cartilage had lessened a bit.. The doctor also said my septal cartilage is too small and difficult to use, and because my skin is thick, he recommended donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage -Consultation: doctor → consultant; I could ask the doctor almost everything I was curious about. The doctor shaped my nose with a cotton swab. It was nice that he showed before-and-after photos of similar cases and explained the degree of improvement -2-3 mm silicone, columella lowering, donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage (columellar strut) + possibly ear cartilage.., nasal axis to be decided later after seeing the shape, removal of the subcutaneous fat layer -The doctor’s consultation was kind and he explained things in detail. He kept asking if I had any questions -Aftercare is done directly by the doctor. AS for 1 year; inflammation is of course covered by AS, and AS due to dissatisfaction with the shape would be after consultation with the doctor.. he said it in a slightly unclear way -Overall, a decent place. No pressure to pay a deposit
4. ㄷㄹ (ㅅㅈㅇ) -The clinic atmosphere here was comfortable too -CT 10,000 KRW. I heard it’s free on weekdays and costs money on weekends, but I’m not certain -This was the first place that said implant-free surgery was possible. At first, I originally wanted implant-free surgery, but everyone said my nose would need silicone, so I had just accepted it. Since this was the first time I heard implant-free mentioned, I was shocked. At the same time, in one corner of my mind I kept wondering, would it really be corrected..? -They said that even with implant-free surgery, because my skin is thick, even if a step-off forms, it probably won’t be that noticeable (ha… will that really be true? Half worried, half hopeful) -Nasal tip columellar lengthening and columellar support with donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage If silicone is used, it would be placed thinly at 2 mm. They said there isn’t a big difference between 2 mm and 3 mm silicone, but there is a difference between having silicone and not having silicone. However, they said that was my choice So it became even harder… -Cost is basic rhinoplasty fee + costal cartilage fee, totaling 5 million KRW. With a review discount, a certain amount can be paid back. The price is the same whether silicone is used or not -The consultant said the doctor is good at implant-free surgery and recommended implant-free a bit more -AS for 1 year, including dissatisfaction with the shape -The doctor handles aftercare, maximum 2 surgeries per day -CCTV can be viewed anytime with no fee -Overall, it felt like they pursue safety, and it felt professional. The consultation was also very detailed, around 20-30 minutes? I could also see before-and-after cases in a booklet

Honestly, the direction I originally wanted was natural and with as little implant material as possible… But I’m also worried that if I get implant-free surgery, I may not be satisfied afterward, so I’m really confused What would everyone here do?
