They told me during the consultation that because I have a high proportion of muscle, it would be impossible to get extremely bony-thin arms. Still, the fat on my arms was stressing me out so much that I decided to have the surgery, and although my arms aren’t thin, they did reach a level that doesn’t greatly disrupt my overall body proportions. I do have some scarring, and a major advantage is that I don’t have to wear compression garments.
My biggest concern was a shadow doctor, but at least based on what I felt, there were no suspicious circumstances.
During the process, while taking preoperative photos, I had an unpleasant experience because of comments from a staff member such as asking what my highest weight had been, saying my skin lacked elasticity, and telling me to get trapezius Botox. I was already psychologically intimidated because I was in an undressed state, and then having my body judged on top of that made me feel really bad. She was kind, like an aunt I know, but this kind of experience can happen too, so please keep it in mind.
