It has been one month since I had everything removed from my nose. I lived for 20 years thinking it was Gore-Tex, but when I had it removed, it turned out to be silicone... I had worried so much about adhesions before removal... I was afraid that pieces of tissue would come off and my nose shape would become a mess (my natural nose was not pretty either... so I think I worried even more). I couldn’t sleep or eat... I was completely drained... In the end, hospitals that are good at removal seem to handle it well no matter what kind of implant it is. Because I had inflammation removed, the surgery time ran over... It was a difficult surgery..ㅜㅠ... sigh... But time feels slow and yet passes quickly.
In conclusion, I think I am recovering well, slowly. At my 2-week hospital visit, since I had surgery because of inflammation, they said contracture was visible from the time of surgery, so they had prescribed Rizaben, but at the one-month mark, they said the contraction and hardness were all better than expected, so they did not prescribe medication. They said my nasal tip was soft... Of course, I still can’t do a pig nose or anything like that. Sometimes it stings, and on some days, at certain moments, suddenly, I feel a slight pulling sensation, and when I said it was hard to predict... they said all of this is part of the recovery process. They said the recovery period takes at least 6 months... Apparently, the one-month mark is usually the peak contraction period.^^;;; They told me to call and come in if I felt uncomfortable, and said they would prescribe Rizaben while monitoring my progress. When I told them I got a COVID vaccine last week, they said that if I felt anxious, they would postpone the medication a little longer... and since it was not an urgent situation where I absolutely had to take it, we should watch it for now.
Ah. Also, I said there were still some dissolvable stitches inside my nose, and they said they would dissolve slowly, and trimmed the parts that looked uncomfortable. The surgery went well, and they carefully checked even the follow-up progress in detail for my recovery, so I was grateful...
I hope I continue recovering well like this. For those considering removal... especially those who suspect inflammation, please don’t delay and definitely get a consultation. I’m off to get a little more familiar with my slightly widened glabella and my awkwardly lower nasal bridge. Chong chong chong!
