I got medial epicanthoplasty + non-incisional double eyelid surgery from a handsome doctor at ㅇㅁㄹ. When I was looking into double eyelid surgery, I needed information too, so I’m writing this in hopes it helps.
Originally I had thin double eyelids and fairly large eyes, but as I got older they gradually became thinner, and I didn’t like that the front part was a bit rounded, so I decided to have surgery. While looking around, I saw someone on YouTube who had surgery here and seriously had little swelling, so I went for a consultation. For me, I was doing it without my dad knowing, so low swelling and it not being obvious were pretty important. Of course, being good at it was important too. So I looked at the background in the YouTube video, searched all the nearby plastic surgery clinics on the map, and found the clinic. I think I went to consultations at about 3 places total. I had previously consulted at another famous place, but the director was extremely busy and it was hard to get an appointment, so I gave up. This place is a large clinic, but this director seemed trustworthy.
First of all, the consultant was awful, but since the director would be doing the surgery anyway, I trusted him and booked. There was a shape I wanted, but he said it would be difficult with my eyes, so I compromised to a reasonable extent. Also, he originally advised against medial epicanthoplasty because my eyes were already somewhat open at the front, but I emphasized that I really wanted to open it just a tiny bit to correct that rounded feeling, so we agreed to do just a very small amount. I’m on the picky side, so my explanation was long, but he listened to everything and tried to do it for me. The surgical result came out exactly as he had planned during the preoperative consultation. And the swelling was really minimal, so my dad didn’t notice. Before the medial epicanthoplasty stitches were removed, I wore glasses diligently for a week (my vision is -8, so when I wear glasses my eyes look tiny), grew out my bangs, and covered it as much as I could. I also avoided him a bit My dad still doesn’t know I had double eyelid surgery and just thinks something changed.
Now, 4 months later, I’m very satisfied. I’m truly extremely satisfied with the medial epicanthoplasty, and the double eyelid design turned out exactly like what was planned at the consultation, but I’m considering revision surgery because I want it to look a bit more dramatic. That’s because I made it completely natural at first. Still, he’s very good, so I recommend him. But if there’s something you want, you need to express it strongly. It seems like he tends not to do much if there won’t be a big change. So I saw a lot of reviews saying they asked about canthoplasty but were talked out of it and didn’t do it.
