Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

6 years after square jaw reduction + T-osteotomy advancement

Six years ago, because of my square jaw, cheekbones, and a receded chin that looked more noticeable due to a slight protruding mouth, I went around from the provinces to Seoul, doing legwork and getting consultations.

I had never had any kind of surgery in my life, but complexes are scary. If I could become prettier, shaving bone didn’t even scare me lol When I was looking for places to get consultations, I tried to find hospitals that performed surgery as safely as possible. At the place where I ended up having surgery, during the consultation they said my mouth protruded slightly, but my smile line was okay, so there was no need to do it, and that we should just do square jaw reduction and T-osteotomy advancement. When they said that, I felt trust, thinking, ‘Ah, this place doesn’t recommend unnecessary surgery,’ so I booked the surgery right away.

After surgery, it was really hard going back and forth from the provinces to Seoul for follow-up care, but as the swelling went down and my facial contour started to show, I quickly forgot about how hard it had been haha As for sensation after surgery, until about 3-4 months I had almost no sensation in the chin tip, but by around 6 months it felt like about half had come back, and within 1 year it returned 100%.

At that time, there was a huge uproar about plastic surgery side effects (when two-jaw surgery was really popular..) Thankfully, because the surgery was done well, I still haven’t had any cheek sagging, pain anywhere, or anything like that. But now that I’m over 30, I’ve started getting stressed again lately because of the slightly noticeable protruding mouth and cheekbones, so I’m looking into two-jaw surgery or protruding mouth surgery What I regret is that I should have done it all at once back then..................
