I had a consultation today at JW ㅈㅇ with Dr. ㅊㅎㄹ.
I had nose surgery with Dr. Manggoon and was very satisfied, and I liked the ㅈㅇ system, so I ended up getting a consultation for my eyes too.
First of all, my eyes do not have any major issues when they are open, but the scarring is so severe when I close them that scar improvement was my biggest goal.
I think my last surgery was about 4 years ago?
* Waiting time At ㅈㅇ, the wait is usually around 10 minutes, but today I don’t know if the surgery finished late or what, but the consultation was delayed by about 40 minutes, so that was a bit disappointing.
* Consultant The consultant was the same one who took care of me when I had my nose done, so I felt comfortable, and she also gave me a good consultation about my eyes, so as expected, that was nice.
* Doctor He explained things very gently and slowly. His voice was a bit quiet. Even without me asking anything, he explained everything step by step on his own. As soon as he saw my eyes, he said they looked really messy and that he wanted to cut out all the scars, which I liked. I thought the scarring on my eyes was because of my skin type, but he said that was not the case, and that the tissue had been removed too much, causing the area to look sunken. He said an incision needs to be made to release all the adhesions underneath. Whether all of them can be released will only be known after doing the surgery. And he said the mucous membrane is lifted because tissue was removed and the line became sunken, and that if the adhesions are released, the mucosal eversion should also improve. I didn’t know this, but he said the mucous membrane is bent into a triangular shape, so ptosis correction needs to be done again to spread it into a rounder shape. Originally, since my irises are relatively visible, I did not really want to do ptosis correction too. But I had thought there would be no way to improve the back part of my eye looking droopy because the mucous membrane is bent, so I liked that he brought it up first. Also, the end of my double eyelid crease is not opened out cleanly and instead curls downward, so it is hard to draw eyeliner, but he said this cannot be helped because of my eye bone structure. He said that to improve it, it should not be done through the double eyelid crease, but by doing only the outer part of a sub-brow lift to raise the line. (I also think this sounds right.) And he said that if the scar is removed, the line will become smaller. But when I said I don’t want the line to get smaller, he wrote it in the chart lol At the end, he said that even if the line becomes smaller, if the overhanging skin above is removed, the line can look bigger when my eyes are open, so I think that part would be okay.
* Overall impression
The cost was reasonable too (though this is because I already had nose surgery here, so the consultant did give me a big discount). The doctor also explained things calmly and in detail, so I liked the consultation. However, when I look at the reviews posted on the app, I’m not sure his aesthetic sense is... that good, and there seems to be a strong fixed feeling, so I’m a bit worried... And there are no reviews at all about whether they take good care of AS after surgery, so I’m worried about that too.. According to the consultant, patients tend to be highly satisfied because there is no scar when the eyes are closed, so I do think he will remove the scars well, and I’m looking forward to that part, but I’m worried that my eyes might not look pretty when they are actually open... There are so few reviews for Dr. ㅊㅎㄹ, really too few If anyone here has had surgery with Dr. ㅊㅎㄹ, please share your review. (Both bad and good comments are totally fine) Things like whether he checks things delicately during follow-up visits, whether he listens well to patients, what his aesthetic sense is like, etc..
