Because I looked gentle and kind, many people saw me as easy to push around, treated me however they wanted, and ignored me even when we had just met. Because of that, I had a hard time and many bad things happened.. So to try to change to a more defined impression, I had double eyelid surgery in the winter of 2017.. I’ve been living well, satisfied with the result. I’m personally against plastic surgery! I think trying to change one’s appearance to the point of putting a knife to the face and bleeding is not a good thing. But for people who really need it, if no matter how hard they try, bad things happen because of their appearance, and people judge them negatively just by their looks.. if there are things that can’t be resolved because of appearance no matter how much they struggle, then I do want to agree with plastic surgery.. Though society is wrong for judging only by appearance.
*From here is the review of my revision epicanthoplasty* The reason I decided on epicanthoplasty surgery was that even though I had eye surgery several times, my eyes still looked stuffy and I wasn’t satisfied. After thinking about it, I went to the clinic, and during the consultation, they said that when I previously had double eyelid surgery, the doctor had barely opened the inner corners.. When I heard that, I felt extremely wronged. I had double eyelid surgery under local anesthesia, and the epicanthoplasty anesthetic injection hurt the most, and removing the epicanthoplasty stitches hurt the most. I still remember that pain even though several years have passed.. Ah, I really resented why they only opened it a little back then. In that case, they should have just not done it.. Because I remembered the pain of the epicanthoplasty injection and stitches, I didn’t want to do it.. To the point that I’d rather have double eyelid surgery again..
Anyway, during the consultation, the doctor said the epicanthoplasty area is currently round, and recommended proceeding in a direction that makes the round shape come down more pointed. They said the epicanthoplasty would be a subtle opening, done naturally, and even if I later ended up doing more canthoplasty, they would do it naturally. They also said plastic surgery is very subjective, that depending on how I see it, it could look sharp, and that the decision is my own. I liked that they didn’t strongly recommend doing too much plastic surgery. After that, I thought about it for several days, and my friends asked why I would do epicanthoplasty and said I’d look sharp, so I agonized over it and then decided on surgery. The anesthesia didn’t fully take, so it hurt..
What I liked was that the doctor personally removed the stitches too. Because it was a subtle opening, the stitches were tiny, so they turned on a bright light and removed them with fine tweezers. Until now, cutting stitches with scissors had hurt so much ㅠ ㅠ The pain of removing epicanthoplasty stitches was a stinging, tearful level.. But because the surgery itself hurt so much, I could bear it tightly..
In conclusion, I’m satisfied! Opening my eyes also became comfortable, and I used to open my eyes using my eyebrows, but that part was all resolved too. Most of all, it’s natural!! Most people don’t notice my change at all. Even a very close friend whom I see often said he couldn’t tell I had epicanthoplasty. For reference, this friend is a man, so he may just be more oblivious than women.. From my perspective, the effect is good, yet it’s natural, the lacrimal lake doesn’t show much, and it doesn’t bother me at all, so I’m really happy. The lacrimal lake showing looks more sharp and artificial than I expected.. I think the lacrimal lake is the most important.
The photos are from about two weeks after surgery, so it may be different now, but I’m satisfieeed. Oh, and it’s been over a month, but the redness in the front is still visible ㅜ ㅜ
