1. Consultation and surgery decision: I had looked at materials such as YouTube and blogs before going, so I did not have questions about the usual surgical principles or process. During the consultation, they marked directly on my face with a white colored pencil and explained things quickly and accurately, which was good, and I was also recommended salivary gland removal, so I decided to do it together. The consultation process with the manager also felt quick and concise. I was disappointed that these days they do not do only one case a day, but I thought it might be better than having too much difficulty booking a surgery date. 2. Day of surgery: I was the third surgery of the day, arrived at the hospital at 3, took photos, changed clothes, then had a re-consultation with the manager and director (purple pen design), all in an instant, so there was nothing new. The hospital is really busy. For some reason I thought applying as a model might be some comfort, so I decided to do it. I think I went into surgery around 4-5. There is a separate anesthesiology director. I had a urinary catheter placed.
3. After surgery: I woke up in a private recovery room, wrapped in bandages, taking deep breaths. The person on overnight duty came in often to check my blood pressure, administered antibiotics, and changed the ice packs. I was grateful that they took good care of me. Thanks to the urinary catheter, I think it was fortunate that I could rest without moving at all. Moving around is harder than expected.
4. Next morning: At 9:00, they removed the blood pressure monitor and urinary catheter, and left only the IV needle in place (because antibiotics still had to be given later). I saw the director, received treatment for the surgical area, removed the thick bandages, put on a neck collar, and got ready for discharge. The treatment hurts quite a bit.. The IV line and drain remained attached, and I put on the inpatient top, ate a little pumpkin porridge, and was discharged.
