Before <<Before double eyelid surgery>> I’m from out of town ㅜ I got double eyelid surgery at ㄷㄹㅇ in Gwangju I already posted 2 posts before this! On day 2 and week 2! It’d be good to refer to those I had it done around August last year (2020)!
If you look at those, you’ll see my before double eyelid surgery photos!!!! I seriously go around praising this place ㅠㅠ People around me got it done too and all had amazing results
While going around for consultations in Gwangju, I went to ㄷㄹㅇ, ㅁㄷㅍ, ㅇㄱㅈㅇ, ㄱㄴㅅㄹ I combined the things they commonly said during consultations, and tried hard to make a reasonable choice
First of all, I had epicanthoplasty + incisional ptosis correction!
It was my first cosmetic surgery at the age of 26, so I was so nervousㅠㅠ I absolutely never wanted to have revision surgeryㅠㅠㅜ
The reasons I chose ㄷㄹㅇ were
1. There is only 1 doctor. There are things like shadow doctors and that scared me ㅠㅠ So a place with only 1 doctor was a must, and I was scared something else might happen while I was under sedation, so I had local anesthesia...
2. Direct consultation with the director Of course, 3 of the places I went to had consultations with the director, but I thought the person who would be doing the surgery should look at my eyes and make the judgment. The director at ㄷㄹㅇ was kind, of course, but
he told me in great detail about my eyes, like how many cm my eyes are in horizontal and vertical width and what the average is, how much difference there is between left and right, the degree of eye protrusion, etc. He explained my eyes in a very detailed way. The double eyelid line comes after that First, an objective evaluation of my current eyes! He also pressed my forehead with his hand to check the muscles! I liked that the most, so I chose this place.
3. Reasons for the surgery(?) After checking everything above, I seriously asked everything: What if I don’t want my eyes to look closer together with epicanthoplasty? Why ptosis correction? There’s non-incisional too, so why incisional? Why not make the line bigger? I asked all kinds of things, and he explained the reasons for those in a way I could understand. Like I said above, he objectively evaluated things well from the start too
-Epicanthoplasty? : With epicanthoplasty, the eyes inevitably become somewhat closer together But if you want, I can do it only to the extent that it looks natural.
-Ptosis correction? : You already have some difference in eye size, and this is also related to the eye muscles. There are three layers of fascia in the eye and something something.. (This was hard, so I don’t remember ㅠ) But when he opened it up during surgery, my right eye muscles were actually weirdly split apart into three layers compared to the left, so the strength was really weak. It took longer to restore that, so I got one more shot of anesthesia ㅠ (hurt like crazy) Since I went in with local anesthesia from the beginning, I got explanations about all of this too. It seriously hurt so, so freaking much, but I bit my lip and told him to make me pretty ㅠㅠㅠ After it was done, the strength in both eyes was balanced well and my eyes open so well, I’m seriously thankful ㅠㅜ This took up another hour and a half, but whewㅠㅠㅠ He’s really good at ptosis correction
- Incisional? : If you want, I can do non-incisional, but the reason I recommend incisional is because your skin is sagging and on the thicker side, so with non-incisional it will 100% come undone. Rather than doing non-incisional on eyes that will 100% come undone and then having surgery again, incisional would be better for you. Yup, I immediately understood..
4. Double eyelid line Honestly, ㄷㄹㅇ is a clinic that pursues a natural look But my style is freaking platinum blonde and hot. I like doing makeup too. I didn’t want an outline, but I wanted an in-out line with some thickness
The director said that because there is some difference between left and right, it would be okay to make the line more glamorous on the left eye, but compared to that, the right eye wouldn’t be able to follow, so the left/right difference would look worse. That’s why they usually set the line to match the less pretty eye. And since my eyes are not protruding but set-in structurally, when I open my eyes fully, the eyelid touches the line and it disappears, he said. Then he drew a thicker line on my prettier left eye, a thicker line on the right eye, and also a line the director thought was okay.
I also said to him, I understand everything you’re saying, but since I’m getting surgery anyway, I don’t want it to be too plain, and I have my own style too. I don’t want a super flashy outline or sausage line. But I would like the line to be a bit thicker than what you want. Saying that, we talked while drawing lines for about 30 minutes. I asked for exactly between the line the director thought was thick and the line the director liked, just slightly above the line the director thought was good!
While talking, I let go of some of my greed, and the director also compromised with my style to some extent. Now I’m super satisfied.
The double eyelid line really determines everything, so don’t hesitate and say everything you want to say.

After surgery, I lived on aged pumpkin jelly + pumpkin juice and I think I slept sitting up for about 3 days.. I just used ice packs constantly every single day! They said the first week is important, so I did it consistently for a week
Of course my eyes got prettier, but honestly my eyes are so comfortable I think it’s because he paid attention and did the ptosis correction well ㅠ
My surgery time went over by about 1 hour or 1 hour and a half While giving me one more shot of local anesthesia, he asked, It’s hard because it’s taking long, right? and I said, You’re the one having a harder time, director, I’m okay so please make me pretty!!!!! That’s how we encouraged each other during the surgery..!!
Even though I had monolids, my eyes weren’t small, so I just lived with them somehow, but what’s really more important than eye size is comfort.. After epicanthoplasty, my Mongolian folds disappeared, so I get less eye discharge, and ptosis correction is seriously a whole new world ㅠㅠ Having big eyes wasn’t everything !!!!!!
This is seriously a real review, so I always tell my friends please go here ㅜㅜㅜㅜ I say it all the time ㅠㅜㅡ And because my case was incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty, it may look like I’m saying everyone should get all of those, but
They recommend differently depending on skin type and the current state of your eyes My friend was recommended natural adhesion non-incisional(?) or something like that and got it done successfully with almost no swelling Another friend went in considering epicanthoplasty too, but they said it wasn’t needed and told her to do only incisional double eyelid surgery and she said she’s glad she didn’t do epicanthoplasty ㅇㅇ
Also, I did have my epicanthoplasty done naturally, so people can’t tell ㅋㅋㅋ only I can tell because it’s comfortable without the Mongolian folds!!!
