Before-before-after-after I had rhinoplasty without implants 2 years ago, but it seemed to have been absorbed a lot and the nasal tip seemed to have drooped a lot, so I went around looking for revision surgery and ended up doing it at Sugar Plastic Surgery!
Good points: • Sugar provides extremely thorough care. For 2-3 weeks after surgery, I came in every week, and the director checked me; I received scar injections and swelling laser treatment. • They say the director performs surgery on only about one person a day. So the environment was comfortable, and I liked that it didn’t feel like a surgery factory. • After surgery, my face became considerably prettier. The hump was shaved down, the bridge of my nose, which had been very crooked, was partially corrected, the bulbous nose became slightly smaller, and the nasal alae became an appropriate size. As a result, unlike before, my face feels cuter and my impression looks very comfortable. And the best thing is that it doesn’t look excessively surgically altered. I was worried it might become like a pinched nose or an upturned nose, but it gives a natural impression with smooth nasal alae of an appropriate size. I think I made the right decision having the surgery.
Things I was disappointed about: • They said that in addition to the initially contracted cost, if donated rib cartilage needed to be used during surgery, there would be an additional cost of 1.5 million won. During the consultation, I felt they spoke in a way that made it seem unlikely it would be used, but on the day of surgery, the consultant called and informed me once again that there could be an additional cost if donated rib cartilage was used. Even then, they said they would try to proceed in a direction that would avoid additional costs as much as possible, but in the end I ended up paying the additional cost. The director must have used it because it was necessary during surgery, but since it was not a small amount, I felt upset. If possible, I think finding a way to reach an agreement under the first contract would help patients make better decisions. Even if you are told that additional costs may arise, you naturally end up hoping it won’t apply to you. • During the consultation, they raised the height of my nose with a cotton swab and explained the plan, but I was disappointed that I could not know the expected nose style at all. I looked at reviews and decided on surgery trusting that the doctor would take care of it well like a professional. That was because I thought it would be the same no matter which clinic I went to. If I were to have surgery again, I think I would search as much as possible at home for ways to estimate what kind of nose would suit me, consult sufficiently with the doctor, and then have surgery. This was my mistake. • Since it was surgery without implants, I think it’s good that it doesn’t feel like I had excessive nose plastic surgery. However, although the bridge was not raised, the hump was shaved, it was reinforced with ear cartilage, and alar reduction was performed, the nasal tip feels as though it rises steeply compared with the nasal bridge. Rather than a straight nose, it has the shape of a semi-beoseon nose. If you want a straight nose, it may be best to consult with the director. My impression so far is that the nasal tip is a little higher compared with the nasal bridge, so I’m not sure whether it suits my face. However, since this area has not fully deswelled yet, I think it would be advisable to judge after nearly 1 year has passed. I guess human desire is endless, so even though I became much prettier, I can’t help imagining whether it might have been even prettier if I had made my nose this or that shape.
3-month review: I think the swelling has gone down a lot compared with 1 month :) When viewed at 45 degrees, there are times when I wonder if the nasal tip is a little too high, but I think I’ll know after 6 months. I also don’t have any side effects yet and am living comfortably!!
