This is my day 1, 1 month, and 3 month review of alar reduction at Unimedi. The procedures I had were 1. alar reduction 2. improvement of alar drooping. I am currently 245 days, roughly 8 months, post-op, and I’m living comfortably with no side effects and am satisfied.
First, before deciding on alar reduction surgery, my nose shape was a huge, huge complex for me.. I was also afraid of later maintenance if I put something into my nose and had a major surgery, so I decided to have alar reduction surgery. During the surgery, the director showed me the shape of one side of my nose after it had been reduced, and when I saw my nose shape after coming out of surgery, I was very satisfied. The director said that for a few months right after surgery it would be swollen, and that the condition would gradually improve. Even so, even in the swollen state, I felt that my nostrils and nose shape had improved a lot compared with before, so I think I was satisfied. No one around me noticed that I had alar reduction after surgery. I think that’s how natural it looked. But to me, I think my nose improved a lot compared with before. Especially when taking photos with the rear camera or selfies, all I could see was my nose, but now I don’t have to edit it much separately haha Around two or three months after surgery, I had a symptom where the flesh on the right side of the surgical area swelled up, but after visiting the clinic and receiving laser treatment, there are now no surgical marks left at all. They said that depending on individual differences, swelling can occur at the surgical site. After laser treatment and some time passed, no scar remained, and I really liked that the clinic continued to manage my care even after surgery like this! If your nose is a complex like mine but you’re scared of nose surgery, or if you want your alar base or nostrils to become overall smaller, I recommend alar reduction surgery! The consultant was also meticulous and analyzed well what surgery was needed for my nose shape and surgical area, so I also recommend going in for a consultation.
