Clinics that recommended autologous costal cartilage A. ㅇㄴㅅㅌ -Single-doctor clinic, no waiting -The director’s energy wasn’t high; they tended to just give the explanation precisely -They explained each type of silicone used in nose surgery and even let me touch them myself -They said my septal cartilage was insufficient, so costal cartilage would need to be used (recommended autologous costal cartilage between the two) -They said my midface is somewhat long, so the nasal tip would need to be raised a lot, as much as the bridge -The consultant was kind, but the desk staff were a bit unfriendly -Autologous costal cartilage + silicone + bulbous nose correction -No pressure to pay a deposit. I felt the director also explained the surgery well -They said anesthesia fees would be charged separately for after-service revision
B. ㅇㅇㅂ -A large clinic with many directors (I went for consultation without specifically choosing one) -They did take a CT, but during the consultation they looked at it very briefly and that was it -They said the procedure would be done under sedation anesthesia, and that anesthesia doctors would monitor until the end, so I could feel reassured about safety -The director was somewhat young. They answered everything I was curious about, but I wasn’t particularly drawn to them -They recommended using costal cartilage because my septal cartilage was insufficient, and said autologous costal cartilage is the safest. They said donated rib cartilage sometimes sinks down.. -Autologous costal cartilage + silicone + bulbous nose correction + nasolabial angle -The consultation with the director wasn’t bad, but they pressured me to pay a deposit, so if anything I felt less sure
2. Clinics that recommended costal cartilage (choose between autologous costal cartilage or donated rib cartilage) A. ㄹㅂㄹ -Consultation after choosing Director ㄱㅊㅇ -They looked at my nose photos and reviewed the overall facial design first -They said that because my midface is long, the surgery should focus more on lifting the nasal tip than on the bridge -Since it’s also my first surgery, they said both types of costal cartilage would be okay. They said donated rib cartilage is also a firm material -Donated rib cartilage + silicone + bulbous nose correction -I liked that they first told me when I could start exercising after surgery and roughly when bruising or swelling would go down -No pressure to pay a deposit. They gave me a business card and told me to contact them if I had questions
Since this is my first surgery and autologous costal cartilage feels burdensome, I’m planning to have surgery with donated rib cartilage at the last clinic at the end of October. Besides these 3 clinics, I also went to 2 more consultations (ㅅㅇ and ㅋㅇ), but nothing really stood out, so I didn’t write them down. If anyone here had surgery at the same clinic, please give me lots and lots of tips or information! hehe
