At one point, for health reasons, my weight was in the low 40 kg range, and because I was so thin, I was told my side cheekbones looked prominent and was recommended facial contouring and full-face fat grafting. Those two were surgeries I had never even considered, but after hearing it, it sounded right, and in the end I didn’t have the courage to shave bone, so I chose fat grafting.
After the surgery ended and I came to, both thighs were wrapped tightly in bandages, my forehead was covered in bandages too, and my face was so swollen it was a mess.
It was so overfilled that for months I lived hearing people say I looked like a plastic surgery monster. For nearly a year, I lived with a tingling pain from my forehead to my scalp, and that was something I had already been informed about. If that counts as a side effect, then maybe it was a side effect? Now about two and a half years have passed, and it has all gone away, but the deep cheek area looks as if it has sagged, so my nasolabial folds have also become worse. I don’t know if not all the grafted fat was absorbed and some of it may have moved to the wrong place.
Conclusion: I do not recommend fat grafting
