After getting the injection, there was more swelling than I expected. For about a week, it felt like I looked quite puffy, but now the swelling has gone down, so it doesn’t feel awkward. The volume has gone down compared with the first week, but at first it looked a little awkward, so I like how it looks now hahaha
[Design] During the consultation, they briefly told me where it would be injected, but before the procedure, they marked it in more detail again (drawing guidelines with something like a white pen) and explained it to me. I have hollowing under my eyes, so I asked if it could be injected there too, and they said Radiesse cannot be used for under-eye procedures. So they said they would fill the anterior cheeks to make the under-eye area look fuller, and they also told me they would inject the nasolabial fold area next to the nose.
[Procedure] They confirmed once again that it was genuine Radiesse, told me the ratio used for hydration, and then the procedure really started! Even though anesthetic cream had been applied, it did sting and hurt when the needle went in, but the doctor’s hands were really fast, so just around when it started hurting too much to bear, one side was done, then the other side was done. I’m not sure of the exact time, but I think it took a little over 5 minutes?
[Downtime] There was full, puffy swelling for about 2-3 days, and I think I looked slightly swollen for about a week. Now I’m at week 2, and the swelling looks completely gone. They put MediFoam on the injection sites, and I kept it on for about 3 days. Makeup is possible too, but after Radiesse it’s good to massage frequently, so for a few days I just didn’t wear makeup and only applied sunscreen and makeup base.
Now at week 2, the volume has filled in just enough to look nice, and I hope it stays exactly like this. The director said it would be perfect if I do a second session too, so I’m planning to make time next month and go once more!
