Hi everyone! A lot of people asked how things were now after I wrote my immediate post-op review last time, so I’m going to write a 7-month review
I had surgery in early March this year, so I’m a little over 7 months out, and the scar on the columella is almost impossible to see from the front or from the side because of the shape of my nose. You only really notice it from underneath, and I feel like in daily life almost nobody is going to be looking up at the underside of my nose, so I’m not worrying about it and just living with it
I’m about 80% satisfied! People really can’t tell that I had nose surgery. Even when they do notice something a little different, it felt more like, “Wow, your brother’s nose was this high to begin with? Why didn’t I notice before?” lol. But for reference, as in the photos, the apparent height of the nose changes a lot depending on the angle, and I do think it would have been nice if it were a little higher and a bit more refined, but I’m trying not to be greedy and just be satisfied with it here haha
Best part: 1. My mouth used to feel a little protrusive, but as my nose got higher, it naturally brought the balance into place!
Unexpected things: 1. My ears became the kind that can’t wear AirPods for more than an hour >>> Once I go past 40 to 50 minutes, my ear canals hurt too much If I use the smaller ones, they just fall out... so I switched to other in-ear earphones.. 2. The bruising around my ears was really severe >>> I kept icing my nose so there was almost no bruising there, but my ears bruised a lot. The bruising even spread down to my neck and lasted for almost two months, so if you’re planning surgery, I recommend icing the ear area too 3. My nose didn’t become as sharp as I expected >>> I thought that since it was raised, it would naturally look a bit more refined, but it just felt like the height went up as is. Still, because of that, it doesn’t really look like I had surgery, so I think it’s true that it looks really, really natural
I’d recommend this to office workers in their late 20s to early 30s. First of all, recovery is really fast (still, I recommend resting at least 4 to 5 days), so it doesn’t interfere much with work, and I didn’t want anything too dramatic. But if I had been in my early 20s, I might have been a little disappointed. First, the price is way higher than I expected, but there isn’t some super dramatic change, so keep that in mind. For reference, before going into surgery I asked them to make it look naturally higher And if possible, for 3 to 4 days right after surgery, stay near the hospital or, if you live in Suwon, I recommend it... Actually, even if you go to another hospital, you might still get antibiotics and such, but the level of care is different. When you come in, they do the dressing, the director takes a look even if not for long, and they also just do the scar laser for you...
