Before <This is before. ><In order: 1 month - 2 months - 3 months><No matter how I think about it, I’m glad I did it.><Getting clearer nasal pores was a bonus.>It has been 3 months, and there have been many changes, so I’m posting a review. I’m older too (in my 40s), scared of silicone contracture, even more scared of revision costs, didn’t want an implant taken from somewhere else, and wanted to save my autologous costal cartilage.. so I gave up on a dramatic nasal bridge and went with no implant. I had the nasal tip done with septal cartilage and 3 mm ear cartilage. <<1 month>> Most of the bruising on my face and around my ear had gone down, and only slight pain remained that I felt when touching it. The nasal bridge still had a thick swollen feeling, but compared with the day the splint was removed, the overall volume had definitely gone down. The columellar scar was still red. The mucous membrane inside my nose was drier than usual, so I spent that time applying a thin layer of eye ointment or Fucidin ointment.
<<2 months>> It felt like a lot of sensation had returned to the nasal tip, which had felt numb. I barely felt pain around the ear anymore, and flesh filled in the area where the cartilage was missing, so the borders became quite natural. A lot of swelling in the nasal bridge went down, but the width still felt somewhat thick. (It seems like swelling on the sloped sides.) When I try nose contour shading, I definitely feel like I need to do less than before. The columellar scar slowly starts fading to pink. The dryness in my nose is completely better and back to how it used to be. I gained some facial fat, and it feels like my nose is getting buried in my cheek fat..
<<3 months>> I don’t feel pain anywhere in my nose or ear. When I touch the sloped sides of my nose, enough swelling has gone down that I can feel the nasal bones, and the scar at the sutured area inside the nose has become very soft, so it feels natural even when I blow my nose with that stuffy nasal sound. The bridge has also become thinner, so nasal bone-like contours are visible. Until the 2-month mark, the area where the philtrum and columella connect felt slightly lifted, but I should say it has completely settled down.. the philtrum area that looked like it was stretched straight has rounded inward like before, and the hidden nasal line shows. The redness in the columellar scar has disappeared, and it has become a low-saturation light brown, so with makeup it really isn’t noticeable. Even very slight shading has a bigger effect now. From around the 3-month mark, there wasn’t anything to worry about, so I think I’ve been living without thinking about it. Honestly, I was more bothered by my pores than my nose..
