1 Month After Cheekbone Surgery

Yesterday I went in for my 1-month follow-up. This was cheekbone surgery that I got after thinking it over and over. I didn’t know it would be this painful after surgery, so right after I had it done, I seriously regretted it ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

Still, they say humans adapt, and after getting it done my face seems a bit smaller, so I also think maybe it was a good decision. My head is naturally quite large, so I wondered if shaving down the cheekbones a little would really make a difference, but the director here pointed out exactly what the issue with my face was and said that if I wasn’t going to have it done by him, I shouldn’t get a standard cheekbone surgery and would probably be better off just getting petite procedures. So I just went ahead with it, and in the end, if I were not going to get cheekbone surgery at all then fine, but if I was going to do it, I think getting it from this director was the right choice..^^ Maybe because there is still residual swelling, the before-and-after difference feels even more obvious when I wear a mask. The cheekbone/midface area has definitely gotten smaller …

It’s really an ambiguous surgery to recommend, and also ambiguous not to recommend. Any surgery that touches the bone carries such big risks…

According to the director, once it’s been 10 months and all the swelling has gone down, people around me will probably ask what I got done lolololol
