I was always somewhat interested in appearance, and I thought that if I just fixed this one thing, my overall image would look better, so I went for nose surgery.
Result) At first I was happy because it seemed to have turned out naturally and well. I got a lot of compliments too. But as time went on, the part I kept liking less was that the nose just felt like a nose that had been operated on. The tip stayed blunt, and the bridge was thick. I kept regretting not making the nose a little longer.
Revision hospital search) It was a hospital people would recognize when mentioned. It was well known in a certain field. The doctor’s experience was long, and I had to make sure they could use the material I wanted and create the nose shape I wanted. My needs and the hospital’s skill had to match well.
Revision consultation) So I picked a few places and kept going to consultations over several months, and among the two hospitals I liked most, I chose the one closer to my house (transportation was really convenient, near Apgujeong). A few consultation details I remember: my bridge didn’t really need osteotomy. They said simply lifting the tip a bit higher would create a slimmer effect, and alar reduction wasn’t necessary either. They would use dermis only in the area where the skin had thinned to make it look sharp. So to raise the overall height, they replaced the silicone, and used costal cartilage for the tip.
It’s already been 2 years, so my memory is fuzzy.. but as I’m writing this, the details are coming back. Anyway, I had surgery with the chief director, and when I came to the recovery room, they explained that the surgery went well and personally checked my progress.. Overall, I felt the aftercare was good.
People around me also told me that since I was getting revision surgery, my current nose was fine and asked why I wanted to do it, saying what if something went wrong. But once I came back, they had nothing to say. In fact, they asked which hospital I went to. I was scared too, like what if I end up liking it less than my first nose surgery.. So the point is that you really have to do your homework properly. The doctor needs to have aesthetic sense and quickly understand the direction you want and design accordingly. Honestly, I think this nose now suits my face? or rather my image? much better. The first nose surgery seemed to make my whole face look a bit flatter overall.
Anyway, to the guys out there looking into revision nose surgery or nose surgery in general. Don’t worry about what other people think and just go for it. There’s no gender or age limit in cosmetic surgery these days.. You can tell just from reading reviews in this community... But of course, you still need to research properly and make a careful decision
