I trusted them because they said this place was famous for noses, but it failed. Still, I thought I would wait and see for a while and lived with it, but as time passed, I felt I really could not stand looking at it anymore, so last year I had my third surgery with autologous costal cartilage.
But after the third surgery, my nasal bridge line was bumpy, and the nasal tip was lifted as if contracture had set in, so I looked into hospitals again. Since I live in Busan, if I wanted to get proper consultations and research things thoroughly, I had to set aside an entire day. Since this was my 4th time, I wanted to do it properly, so I also looked into places around Gangnam. So I went back and forth between Seoul and Busan, and I think I got consultations at every hospital said to be famous. Then while watching YouTube, I came across a director who had handled many difficult cases like mine, and after looking into it diligently again, I found out that he specializes in revision rhinoplasty. This was already my third nose surgery, you know. Because of that, I knew my nose was considered a rather difficult nose, so I thought that a director who had handled many noses like mine would probably be better. I also looked up reviews after the director’s surgeries, and the noses were exactly what I wanted, and the people who had surgery seemed satisfied, so I went to Seoul for another consultation. When I went for the consultation, he immediately caught and identified exactly what I was concerned about as soon as he saw me, so this time I felt certain that he really was a specialist. When I told him I wanted my bumpy nasal bridge and pointed nasal tip made into a straight-to-slightly-curved profile, the director explained in detail what materials he would use and how he would perform the surgery. Because my nasal tip was severely upturned, a lot of my nostrils showed, so I had many questions, such as whether it could be improved through nasolabial angle correction, how my shortened nose should be improved, and so on. Even though I asked a lot of questions, he explained everything in detail in a way that was easy to understand, without showing any sign of annoyance. In conclusion, he said it could be improved without an implant, using only autologous costal cartilage, so I booked the surgery.
It has now been about 2 months since the surgery. The lifted nasal tip has come down naturally, and the pointed tip now seems round and sharply raised. The nasal bridge line has also been smoothed and refined, so I like it.
Since this was my 4th nose surgery, I can really feel it when I get consultations, and he told me not only the problems but also the improvement methods and even the materials suited to me. The result seems to have reflected exactly what was discussed during the consultation, so I think this really is the end.
It was hard to visit several times from Busan all the way to Seoul, but because it changed into the look I wanted, I did not feel the time was wasted at all. I had surgery even at well-known rhinoplasty places and went through all kinds of trial and error and hardship, but maybe because I met the right director this time, it feels like it has clearly improved, so I am very satisfied.
