I was looking for a place that does natural adhesion well, with little swelling and bruising, and I found out that ㅇㅁㄷ is known for little swelling and bruising. But I heard it was hard to get an appointment at ㅇㅁㄷ, so I kept looking and found out about ㅇㅇㅌ, where Director ㅇㅎㅂ, who came from ㅇㅁㄷ, is working, so I visited!
First of all, my eyes show all the reddish inner tissue on the front side / if I drag my eyes open with my hand and set a double eyelid, the fold appears right away / and I can keep a double eyelid all day if I pay a little attention, so my crease is easy to form! I had been wearing an outer line! And this is my first surgery! I have absolutely no previous cosmetic surgery experience!
First of all, the consultant who helped me was truly, truly kind to the core! She was bright and friendly and treated me so well without making me feel pressured. It wasn’t mechanical kindness; she genuinely felt like a nice person, so I was satisfied from the first step.
Director ㅇㅎㅂ was also gentle, soft-spoken, and kind, which I liked. The moment she looked at my eyes, she said, “Oh, you tried making a double eyelid at home, right? It comes out nicely, doesn’t it?” and she adjusted the crease several times. At first I had no idea what would suit me, so I just said I wanted something roughly semi-outer, but once she made the crease, I thought it looked lower than I expected. Then she asked if I might want it bigger. When I said I prefer something higher, she said that would give more of an outer look, then adjusted it and said that would suit me too and would be fine.
She also told me that the heights of my eyebrows on both sides are a little different. I didn’t even know that I had thought my two eyes just looked different, but it was because of that! She said that if the space between the eyes and eyebrows is narrow, the double-eyelid line tends to look relatively thin and extend evenly, and if the space is wider, the crease moves farther back and looks slightly broader. While adjusting both sides, she showed me the difference and said the right eye, where the brow is relatively lower and the space is narrower, would likely have a more even, straight look compared to the left. She said the difference wasn’t big. Personally, she said she prefers setting it so that it extends more broadly toward the back.
She said that if I wanted to catch even those subtle differences, I could do other procedures too, but since the difference isn’t that severe, she recommended just doing the double eyelid surgery and taking that into account. Even while explaining exactly how my eyes are and how they would probably turn out, she never pushed anything excessively, and that alone made me satisfied! She said I probably didn’t need canthoplasty and that my skin isn’t thick, so the result should be good.
I asked whether it was possible to predict how much bruising and swelling I would get. She said they could minimize bruising as much as possible, and that, though the wording sounds a bit odd, they could make it so I’d have less swelling than other people. But separate from that, she said I would swell because I want the crease to be quite high.
She explained that when you create a double eyelid, all the tissue below the line being secured gets included too, so setting it higher means more tissue is being secured, which is why there can be more initial swelling when the crease is higher. She said that the kind of swelling where everyone can tell you had double-eyelid surgery would probably last about 10 days, that it would start looking natural after about a month, and that by around 3 months, when the eyes are complete, she could make it so there’s no visible sign at all, but she was honest that because the line is high, it can’t look completely invisible from the start. She told me to think of it as looking like I cried and slept on it for about 10 days. She also said that if you make it thin, like an inner line or inner-outer line, there is almost no obvious sign even right after surgery. The fact that she explained what was possible and what wasn’t, while still sounding confident, increased my trust again...
She said not to use eyelid glue or tape because they make the eyes swell slightly, but I don’t use them at all, so that should be fine, and others planning surgery should keep that in mind too!
The consultant came back in and said the reservation deposit is 100, and non-incisional surgery is 110, but the event has ended. However, they are trying to run something internally for now, and if I have surgery in October and write four photo-review posts, they would do it for 88. (I wonder if I can say that?) They would do sedation anesthesia and local anesthesia together, and since there are no stitches to remove, there would be no need to come back. I said I was worried because my parents might oppose it, and we even chatted lightly about that They were really so kind and so nice, with no pressure and very comfortable.
I went yesterday, and after thinking it over, I called today to make a reservation and sent the deposit! They said the deposit isn’t refundable starting 2 weeks before surgery, but I scheduled it for next week, so there’s no more DORMA-MU... Please wish that it turns out pretty and that things go as smoothly as possible with my parents.......
