I really wanted surgery that would improve only the exact areas I was concerned about, to the point that even my parents wouldn’t notice, and that would look as subtle as possible.
Actually, I have chronic rhinitis, so I was first looking into functional rhinoplasty, and then I thought that since I was getting surgery anyway, I might as well do cosmetic rhinoplasty too. That’s how I decided. It wasn’t that I hated my nose, and I felt burdened by the idea of it being obvious to people around me like, “I got surgery!!”...
There are a lot of famous clinics that advertise a lot, and since I live in Seoul, I also considered getting it done at a plastic surgery clinic in Seoul. But I took into account a friend’s recommendation after she had it done first, and as I searched for a place that would manipulate as little as possible and keep it as natural as possible, I ended up going all the way to Anyang.
My nasal bridge was already high like a man’s (it doesn’t show well in photos, but there was even a director who touched it because he thought filler had been put in badly), so my relatively low nasal tip looked droopy. I naturally raised the nasal tip, and while doing that, I also refined the hump.
I didn’t have osteotomy, and they used septal cartilage to build a columellar strut to lift the droopy nasal tip. I had the functional rhinoplasty done at the same time.
The surgery took about an hour and a half to two hours, and when I closed and opened my eyes, it was already over...
The cotton placed inside my nose was removed when I visited the clinic the next day, and the stitches from the columellar incision were removed when I visited a week later. Until the stitches were removed, I used the silicone shower cap I had ordered in advance, so I washed my hair and showered fine, but not being able to wash my face was seriously torture.
During recovery, breathing through my mouth because the mucous membrane was swollen was something I was used to as a rhinitis patient, so it wasn’t that hard Even before removing the cotton, people write reviews saying it was unbearable because you have to sleep while breathing through your mouth, but I just slept deeply... If you’re a chronic rhinitis patient, you probably won’t think much of it even after nose surgery. Even before, if I had just a little runny nose, I couldn’t breathe through my nose.
Anyway, after surgery, the front view didn’t change much, but I don’t have a bulbous nose and I liked the front view of my original nose, so I actually liked that. The side view improved, the line became cleaner, and the nasal tip that had been drooping downward came up, so I really like it.
My parents and friends only know that I had rhinitis surgery and don’t know about the cosmetic rhinoplasty, but they just say things like, “You seem prettier, did you do your hair?” or “Did you lose weight?” haha
What I was unexpectedly satisfied with was the functional rhinoplasty. I found out for the first time that I can breathe even when I have a runny nose;;; Even if functional rhinoplasty doesn’t have a permanent effect, breathing has become comfortable for the first time in my life, so I’m satisfied.
The uncomfortable parts are that I can’t pick my nose freely like before, and that the nasal tip is fixed? If I stretch it downward below the philtrum like before, it feels tight, and I can’t make a pig nose Also, the blackheads that appeared when I had taping still haven’t gone away haha
But they said that after one month post-op, I can press and touch my nose or pick my nose, so I’m going to take good care of it until then and try hard to pick it haha
Anyway, I’m saying this just in case, but I’m not a broker. I’m just genuinely satisfied, so I’m posting a review. There weren’t any reviews in this community.
