I went for a consultation because I had surgery using septal cartilage 14 years ago and wanted both correction of a deviated septum (functional) and improvement of an upturned nose and nasal bridge (cosmetic). For the deviated septum, they concluded septal reconstruction (considering it may already be weakened from prior septal cartilage use), and for the nasal bridge, removing the current silicone and inserting a different silicone implant + autologous costal cartilage. When I said I was scared of using autologous costal cartilage, they said something like athletes also use autologous costal cartilage for surgery(?)..
