I think it’s been about 48 hours since surgery.. If I could turn back time and go back to before surgery, these are the things I think I should have had ready, so I’m leaving this post..
1. Good things for the bronchi, throat, and respiratory tract (balloon flower root and pear, quince, etc.) - I had prepared ginger tea, but my throat stung so badly I thought I would die haha
2. Mochi pillow - It’s a pillow I had bought before. I tried to use it to elevate my legs, but it was hot so I hadn’t been using it.. This time it was extremely useful. It’s like a large pillow, like a glutinous rice cake pillow, and it’s good for sleeping after surgery
3. Compression face band - The compression face band the hospital gives may vary case by case, but the one I received pressed on my ears and hurt.. I hurriedly ordered one from Coupang with openings around the ears.. If I had known in advance, I would have prepared one that was at least comfortable for my head shapeㅜ
4. Black bucket hat - I don’t usually wear hats, so I had been wearing a light-colored hat, but I think going around with a black compression face band, black mask, and black bucket hat makes it less noticeable and better
That’s what I really wish I had prepared in advance, or was glad I had prepared.. The just so-so items were pumpkin juice, baby food (thin rice gruel, stage 1 porridge), packaged tofu, ginger tea, mouthwash, and a humidifier.. Things to eat like milk or castella bread I bought after surgery as needed..
I had surgery, was hospitalized, and the next day came home alone without a guardian, wearing the compression face band, a mask, and a hat, taking public transportation all the way home (40 minutes away). I thought I had managed the surgery pretty well on my own.. but because of the throat pain lol I keep thinking, if only I had known thisㅜ
I didn’t have that balloon flower root and pear juice, so yesterday and today my throat hurt (they say it gets better in a day or two), but since there was no sign of improvement, I ordered it from Coupang today.. I’m leaving this post in case anyone about to have surgery has missed this..
