I received implant-free nose surgery for a hump nose from Director Kim Da-alm at a plastic surgery clinic. It’s been exactly one month since surgery! I was bothered by the hump and by my nasal tip turning into an arrow-shaped nose when I smiled, but I was scared to put silicone in my nose, so I looked for places that did implant-free rhinoplasty using only autologous materials. I went to 5 places for consultations, and this plastic surgery clinic was the last one. At other places, they said things like, “You may or may not need alar base reduction,” which made me a bit confused, but Director Kim Da-alm clearly told me right away that I didn’t need it, so I think I trusted him more.
First, I was very nervous on the day of surgery, but the consultant and the other staff spoke kindly to me and reassured me, so I calmed down. I was worried I might wake up in the middle of sedation anesthesia. Before surgery I had a slight lingering cough, and after sedation anesthesia, I apparently coughed more during the surgery, so they woke me up in the middle.. So it was done while I was slightly conscious, but it still didn’t hurt! I could hear the director and nurses talking, and it was somehow a fun conversation, so I think it actually helped me relax more haha
On the night of surgery, my nose was blocked with cotton, so I barely slept, but I was still so glad they removed the nasal packing right away the next day I tend to bleed a lot from my nose, so I was worried, but thankfully the bleeding had stopped the next day and they removed the nasal packing safely haha Except for the first day, I haven’t had a nosebleed even once since! And one week later, I went to have the splint removed and the stitches taken out. When they removed the stitches around my nose, it honestly didn’t hurt at all, and when they removed the ear cartilage stitches, it stung a little? That was it.
I’m still only one month post-op, so more swelling will go down, but I’m completely satisfied!!! People around me also say it turned out naturally well haha I’ll have to wait for the swelling to go down more soon!
