I really think you need at least 7 days. On days 2-3, I swelled up badly, like I had been stung by a bee, and from day 4, the swelling started going down and yellow bruises began to show. I didn’t have a compression bandage? placed under my eyes, and only had DuoDERM applied to the injection marks.
I walked for 1-2 hours in the morning and evening each day, and for the first 3 days I did cold compresses three times a day. I also took swelling-reducing meds Tripline, Baenosin, and the hospital-prescribed meds. That’s what I took. By day 7, people around me couldn’t tell I’d had surgery. I think walking helped reduce the swelling a lot. They say for people whose swelling lasts a long time, it can go on for over 2 weeks.
They didn’t tell me about side effects of fat grafting, but on the day of surgery, they explained that 1 in 1,000 people can develop calcification, and if it doesn’t turn out flat, a secondary retouch is possible. If I had heard that beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have done the fat grafting. They also didn’t tell me about the side effects of lower blepharoplasty.
