Before<before>Before<before + makeup>After<day of surgery>Before<right after stitch removal>Before<week 2>Before<week 3>Before<week 4 + makeup>Before<today!>Hi everyone~! For about the first 2 weeks after surgery, I came in every single day and searched for reviews, so I thought mine might help other people even a little. Since I’ve reached one month, I came to write a review! I’m just writing whatever comes to mind, and I’m writing this on my phone, so please understand even if the story jumps around! I’m not very good with words either haha...
I went all the way to Seoul on July 1 for surgery, and it has been exactly one month haha First of all, I had severe asymmetry in my eyes... My left eye had multiple double eyelid folds, and my right eye had an extremely thin inner double eyelid that was barely there. I hated it since I was young, but I only ended up having surgery after a very long time haha So I worked hard visiting consultations, and at the last hospital I consulted at, I trusted the doctor’s confident attitude and decided to have surgery there!
Until the day before surgery, I worried a lot about in-out vs semi-out, and incisional vs non-incisional, but in the final consultation with the doctor on the day of surgery, I chose the semi-out line that I wanted more and the incisional method the doctor recommended. I had incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction + medial/upper epicanthoplasty!
First of all, on the first day, I was glad that I was less swollen than I expected, but the problem was that the eye ointment prescription had been omitted..^^... When I was looking up reviews before surgery, they said it was important to apply ointment well so it wouldn’t dry out, so I was totally determined to apply it diligently!!! But...^^ Where am I supposed to get eye ointment after 5 p.m. on a Saturday.. sigh. I still get angry when I think about it. Because of that, how much time I wasted!! And the weather was unbearably hot too!! In the end, on Monday I used my lunch break to go to an ophthalmology clinic and got it prescribed again ㅠㅠ As for swelling, honestly, to me it was less swollen than I had expected. But I did take a lot of things. I drank pumpkin juice, took Gibunjeonhwan, and after finishing the prescribed medication, I also took that three-piece swelling medicine set (though it was only for 3 days). They said I didn’t have to go that far, but even when sleeping, I put a triangular cushion on top of my pillow and slept half-sitting, leaning back. I also took hour-long walks every night except on rainy days. People at work also said I didn’t look that swollen. But exactly one week later, when I got the stitches removed, because of the tape they had put along the line after surgery lol I just hadn’t realized my eyelids were completely swollen ㅠㅠ Ah. People said stitch removal hurt, so I went mentally prepared, but it still stung so much that tears just ㅠ rolled down ㅠㅠ After it was over, the staff member who removed my stitches said, “It stings a lot, right?” and wiped my tears haha... I applied the eye ointment until about 2 days after stitch removal (the clinic told me to apply it until then), and I also started washing my face from the day after stitch removal..! It felt so good..! It had been so hard wiping only with pads every day ㅠㅠ For me, with my extremely oily skin, not being able to wash my face was so difficult.. And my hair too.. washing my hair... ㅠㅠ Even with a shampoo cap, water leaked little by little, so I was scared water would touch my eyes and couldn’t wash comfortably. Maybe because of that, even after washing my hair, it felt kind of gritty. Like it was oily. Very uncomfortable. And then, was it Thursday of week 2? From then, I started applying scar ointment! I apply both. Noscarna and Dermatix. I also started applying sunscreen again from when I started using scar ointment. And as for swelling, in week 2 there wasn’t much difference from week 1. From week 3, the swelling in my upper eyelids started to go down a bit. Around the end of week 3, I think the burdensome feeling went away somewhat. I’m now entering week 5, and there is still a difference in swelling between morning and evening!
After this, there isn’t anything particularly special to say about the progress. I don’t think I have any specific memories that I thought, “I should write this in a review later!”
And now, to talk about the result. First of all, my eyes are still asymmetrical. They just became the opposite lololol Even during surgery, the doctor had already told me. That once he opened them up, my eyes were more asymmetrical than expected. That he would really try hard, but there was a high chance they would become asymmetrical. Still, he told me not to worry and said he would take responsibility, so they did become asymmetrical, but honestly I’m not that worried. Also, the distance between my eyebrows and eyes became much narrower than I expected ㅠ It is a bit better after the swelling in my upper eyelids went down, but still, it’s much narrower than I expected ㅠㅠ So I need to tidy up the lower line of my eyebrows more ㅠㅠ.. The fortunate thing is that I have Shin-chan eyebrows! Even if I shave them upward a little more and my eyebrows become thinner, they’ll still look like caterpillars to other people! Ah. There’s another downside. My sparse eyelashes are way too visible...
I think I’ve said everything I wanted to say. I feel relieved! Since I had surgery at an event price through a review event on another app, when I left a review there, even though I didn’t really have complaints, I still wondered if it would be a bit wrong to write even slightly negative things...? so I didn’t write them. I really like this review where I can freely say everything I want haha
Thank you for reading my long review!
