I'm a 30-year-old man whose cheekbones protrude quite a lot overall. I thought about cheekbone surgery 6 years ago too, but I didn't go through with it because general anesthesia and an intraoral incision scared me too much.
Then... in September, while searching about masseter Botox that I had been getting for a long time, I happened to learn about quick cheekbone surgery, which doesn't use an intraoral incision. From then on, I was like someone possessed. I booked for October, had a consultation, decided on surgery right away, and in mid-October I had surgery for the side cheekbones, 45-degree shaving, posterior cheekbones, and fat grafting for 4.95 million won.
Really, common sense says... I should have researched for at least another month or two and visited several hospitals before deciding, but because it was a non-intraoral-incision method I had never imagined, I was just full of enthusiasm and pushed ahead in an instant...
It's been 1 month now, and I have no discomfort at all. The changes in the side cheekbones and posterior cheekbones are clear, but the 45-degree cheekbones have barely changed... ㅜㅜ The doctor definitely said during the consultation that an intraoral incision could refine the 45-degree cheekbones more, but at the time, because I was afraid of an intraoral incision, none of it really registered...
I'm already looking into revision surgery. That's how I found this community too. Sigh... I think this is the first time in my life I've resented myself this much. It's really painful... But my goal is to stay strong and get revision surgery done well next year!
