Cheekbone Surgery Reviews@cheekbone-review

I had two types of facial contouring surgery with Director Jung Jae-young at Lavian Plastic Surgery.

Originally, I went in planning to have three types of facial contouring, but he did not recommend chin-tip surgery and instead recommended filler for the chin tip. (I personally don’t like temporary procedures, so I didn’t get filler.)

I was pretty bold, since I had to travel from the provinces to Seoul, so I paid a deposit and booked it so that I would have the consultation and then surgery right away on the same day. We also discussed the price on the day itself. Looking back now, I wonder what gave me the courage to proceed like that...

I saw Director Jung Jae-young’s replies on a plastic surgery-related cafe, and I could feel his sincerity toward patients through his writing, so I think that’s probably why I went ahead so recklessly.

In July 2017, I had two types of facial contouring: anterior cheekbone and lateral cheekbone reduction with posterior cheekbone reduction applied, and long-curve mandibular resection [including cortical bone resection].

I didn’t become dramatically prettier or anything, but I had no side effects, my face looks softer than before, the contour line is neatly refined, and I’m 70% satisfied. Oh, he also pointed out that my jaws were asymmetric and that there was a slight protrusion about the size of a 500-won coin on the anterior cheekbone under my eye, so he aligned the jaw asymmetry as much as possible and also removed that slight 500-won-coin-sized protrusion on the anterior cheekbone.

The remaining 30% is that maybe because I didn’t do the chin tip, there is an indentation/uneven curve where the long-curve jaw and chin tip meet, and despite the fact that I didn’t have much cheek fat, I have cheek sagging. But I’m at an age where cheek sagging can happen, so I look my age. (Because I didn’t do the chin tip, the tissue around the chin tip hasn’t sagged, and it looks natural because it doesn’t look obvious that I had contouring done... I think that part is good too~)

When I lift my cheek fat just slightly upward, my jawline looks clean, so for years I’ve kept thinking that I want to get a mini lift. When I pull my cheek fat upward, the curved/uneven area going from the jaw to the chin tip disappears, and the clean jawline the doctor created shows properly. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ... In conclusion, I don’t need a full facelift, just about a mini lift, but it feels so unfamiliar that I’ve only been thinking about it. This level of cheek sagging is appropriate for my age, and it doesn’t make daily life uncomfortable, so I’m very hesitant about a mini lift.

My belief is that cosmetic surgery is a success if there are no side effects and you’re at least 70% satisfied, and mentally I’m not distressed enough over this to develop an emotional burden, so I’m living well and satisfied.

In conclusion, I definitely think getting two types of facial contouring surgery was the right choice.

As for aftercare, since I didn’t really have any side effects, I currently don’t have anything uncomfortable with the hospital. Because I live in the provinces, I didn’t receive any postoperative care at all. Even so, I’m doing well without any major issues.^^

The biggest obstacle with plastic surgery clinics is getting corrections if something goes wrong after surgery, so I really, really think everyone should check that part carefully when choosing a hospital. Hospitals where reviews say things like, “When I said this and that happened, they acknowledged it and corrected it~~~” seem mu~ch better than hospitals that blame the patient.
